The Russian embassy in Prague did not respond to a request for comment, nor did the Russian Foreign Ministry comment on the move. Hřib said the embassy had not responded to an invitation to attend the renaming ceremony.

Many, many moons ago the local (communist) government in Calcutta (as it still was then) renamed the road on which the US consulate is after Ho Chi Minh.
In Peking, their embassy was on the Street of the Struggle Against Revisionism.
Gesture politics – but then such countries have no power (I am not sure we do either), so gestures will have to do. Gestures are better than nothing.
Will Putin care? Most likely not – but it was still worth doing.
Well, while the mood is upon us, I know that the French are irritated by the British naming Waterloo Station, Waterloo Station.
In a gesture of friendship and to heal divisions over BREXIT, I suggest renaming the Station. Pick one from:
Agincourt Station,
Crecy Station,
Poitiers Station.
Other suggestions along the same lines would be welcomed … >};o)
