Get your climate popcorn out

From Breitbart:

The plan by climate alarmists to have other scientists imprisoned for their ‘global warming’ skepticism is backfiring horribly, and the chief alarmist is now facing a House investigation into what has been called “the largest science scandal in US history.”

These are the RICO20, and if everything works out it will be very funny indeed. And ironic, as the “scientists” wanted to use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act to silence their critics.

This is a really good scandal, but the MSM will bury it, and no one will hear about it, other than those who already skeptical about AGW and read the usual blogs where it will be followed. The MSM buried the Climategate emails and they will continue to serve their masters by trying to make the Paris conference a “great success”.

Another opportunity to savor the pleasures of schadenfreude.

Shukla and his cronies aren’t “scientists”. True science relies of disagreement and debate to seek to uncover truth. These people seek to stifle debate and silence opponents. They are advocates, not scientists. They should all have their scientist licenses revoked.

What I find most surprising about this is not the arrogance, hubris and outright greed of professional alarmists such as Shukla (that is only to be expected from such people), but the fact that he is ensconced at George Mason University. GMU is known as a hotbed of Austrian economics; the redoubtable Don Boudreaux hangs his hat there. The fact the it even has a professor of “climate dynamics” is deeply disappointing. I hope that this scandal will cause them to get rid of this poseur promptly.

As the head of the Meteorology department at the University of Wisconsin said, “You can go outside and spit and have the same effect as doubling CO2”. I was at the U of Wisconsin studying a discipline no one had even heard of back then in the early 1970’s: Climatology. The professor’s name was Dr. Reid Bryson and he was a marvel.

Since then climatology has been turned into something akin to medieval alchemy. Bryson understood this and spoke out on many occasions against this fraud.

Nothing will come of it. The climate lobby is too entrenched and powerful for such a trivial exercise to impact it. A few people will be questioned, a few politicians will say some harsh words for the media to report and then it will be back to business as usual.

It is not “just” the First Amendment.

The ignoring of the 4th and 5th Amendments involved by judges (including “conservative” judges) ruling that obscenities such as the “RICO” statutes are Constitutional is obscene.

The “justice” system at Federal and (to some extent) at State level has become an evil farce.

Such things as the 4th and 5th Amendments are not worth the paper they are written on if they are left to appointed judges to enforce – ditto the First Amendment.

Every person has an obligation to defend basic liberties.

“Leave it to the people in funny robes” has been a terrible failure.

They should all have their scientist licenses revoked.

By ‘license’ do you mean ‘degree(s)’? Do people need a license to be a scientist? If so, it’s worse than I feared.

Remember, peer review of Isaac Newton’s alchemy was bunk on bunk, peer reivew of his physics was bunk on genius.

    In terms of popcorn …..

THIS is set to run – since it shows that warmy / AGW theory is quite out of kilter with what Gaia’s actually doing.

    tomo,
Gaia is a bitch who won’t conform to dogma.

What a shame that the ‘alarmists’ have the facts on their side. Here in Sydney, Australia, we just had the hottest start to October for over 70 years. What caused that, if not an increase in world-wide temperatures?

  • David Moore

    El Nino?

  • Rob Fisher

Nick Gray: it was even hotter 70 years ago.

Thankfully, the weather is now cooling down, and we are putting out the early-season fires. How is that drought in California going? Have you put the fires out yet?

  • Joseph S

Ah, Weather vs Climate. I believe even the BBC are not sufficiently arrogant, (yet), to issue daily Climate Forecasts. Maybe Mr Putin’s antics in the middle east will replace MSM climate alarmism as it gives the USA more reasons to increase their armed forces budget and the rest of the West something tangible to hate…awfully difficult to hate CO2. Who knows, we might even end up with 8 Trident boats. Hopefully based around an excavated Canary Wharf, or under the QEII Bridge. The latter would atleast give beleagured drivers something to look at as the queue to cross the river.
