I am sick to death of the BBC, I really am. How anybody can even try to suggest that it is an objective news source is beyond me. The paranoid, ranting, ‘Little Englander’, anti-EU, xenophobic mentality is clear for all to see:

How can this be anything but complete garbage? It is high time that the BBC was exposed as the extreme right-wing, capitalistic, Bushista, warmongering propoganda tool that it really is!
I wonder when Pluto Press will admit they were dumb to back out of the book project we had together in 1996 where I was predicting exactly how this would all happen in Euroland?

I don’t know if the EU is in worse trouble than “previously thought.” Note the carefully passive construction of that sentence. Thought by who, exactly? Plenty of folks have been saying for years that the EU was in serious economic trouble. I suspect that this sentence should more accurately read
“The 12-nation eurozone is in even worse economic trouble than we have previously cared to reveal.”
Quite right, they’ve even rigged their Great Americans poll by permitting the inclusion of such authoritarian idols as Jefferson and Washington–thereby dangerously implying that the lummox-country ought to be taken seriously, rather than accurately represented by a fictional fatso. (Look here if you don’t believe me.)
