Just by looking at the photos, I think what happened is pretty obvious. In order to avoid Her Majesty’s Immigration and Nationality Directorate, the crewpeople of the starship Enterprise agreed to beam Mr Dodge directly across the Atlantic. The glowing lights of the Transporter are clearly visible in the picture.
One is left to wonder about Ruth; has she not been reading Samizdata, before? One also has to wonder about Bruce’s awkward silence; has he perhaps put his foot in it?
Don’t I wish that were the case Michael. It took 10 months and lots of pain to get me back with all the proper paperwork.

We here in New England are happy to see him shipped back to Olde England. It lets us rest easy that the children and livestock are reasonably safe, especially after the sun goes down.
