The intrepid Michael Totten in Iraq

I must say that I always enjoy reading what Michael Totten has to say even if I do not always agree (though in truth I find myself agreeing more and more often). His reports from Lebanon were always compelling.

He is now writing from Iraq (Kurdistan to be exact) and I strong recommend people take a peek at his blog.

While I often disagreed with Totten’s position on this or that, courage is always worthy of respect. He was willing to espouse unpopular opinions in support of military actions undertaken by the US and her allies.

Now he demonstrates physical courage as well as intellectual. I can’t say I’m surprised.

  • He’s a good blogger. I get a sense of what he’s experiencing and talking about with the people that he meets. Thanks for reminding me of this as I haven’t checked him out in a while. And happy Valentines Day Perry. Weren’t you the one taking photos of that government building on Victoria Street? I tried that too.

I was shocked to read the line where he describes his blog being monitored by a recognised terrorist group.

Put’s the chickenhawk argument to bed I’d say – obviously the war of words being waged on the net must be important if groups like that take an interest in a blogger.
