Greenpeace claim a monumental win against the Filipino poor The Observer is editorially independent from the Guardian, and sometimes it demonstrates that fact to good effect. Today’s edition included this article: “‘A catastrophe’: Greenpeace blocks planting of ‘lifesaving’ Golden Rice”.
Scientists have warned that a court decision to block the growing of the genetically modified (GM) crop golden rice in the Philippines could have catastrophic consequences. Tens of thousands of children could die in the wake of the ruling, they argue.
The Philippines had become the first country – in 2021 – to approve the commercial cultivation of golden rice, which was developed to combat vitamin-A deficiency, a major cause of disability and death among children in many parts of the world.
But campaigns by Greenpeace and local farmers last month persuaded the country’s court of appeal to overturn that approval and to revoke this. The groups had argued that golden rice had not been shown to be safe and the claim was backed by the court, a decision that was hailed as “a monumental win” by Greenpeace.

Philipino Children’s Greenpeace Death Clock sounds like a catchy name.
You can have it periodically update over the Internet for adjustments in pacing. Profits to go to fund vitamin A supplementation for poor children in that country.
The climate fraud was losing steam and wasn’t depopulating us quickly enough, so Greenpeace moved directly to limiting our food.
All of those pesky poor people really need to die out quicker, I guess.
(Really, if there were any justice, there would be bounties on Greenpeace and ClimateScam people.)
Don’t forget that it is a tenet of the climate alarmists that there are too many people on the planet.
They really believe that. So things like this can’t come as too much of a surprise.
“Normal” rice hasn’t been proved to be safe. BAN IT! I almost choked to death on a sushi roll a couple of weeks ago, and a diet of consuming rice has put stones on my weight.
Does anyone recall if Greenpeace got all concerned whether Covid vaccinations had been proven to be safe or not? If they were, they were rather quiet about it.
It won’t add up to as many deaths as the banning of DDT, but I’m sure they will be able to manage a few more monumental wins as time goes by.

A golden shower on golden rice
At what point do you pass from well meaning but disastrously wrong into outright evil? Has Greenpeace? Who else joins them in this not so rarefied air. Maybe we should establish a trophy–call it the “Rachel Carson Culling Cup?”

And more to the point, they’re GREENPEACE!!! Has anybody ever heard Greenpeace say a WORD about the eco-destruction that China has wrought on the South Pacific coral atolls that they used sand dredgers to convert into islands, plopped runways and missile batteries on them, and are now trying to claim territorial waters and EEZ’s?
