We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Yet another quotation to ponder

“Those who justify the need for greenhouse gas reductions by exploiting the mounting human and economic toll of natural disasters worldwide are either ill informed or dishonest…Prescribing emission reductions to forestall the future effects of disasters is like telling someone who is sedentary, obese and alcoholic that the best way to improve his health is to wear a seatbelt.”

I guess after a harsh winter, the AGW alarmists must be breathing a sigh of relief now that we are having a nice summer.

I think that we seem to be having half a nice summer. It didn’t get started until late June, up until then it was like winter here in the UK.

It seems they are trying to ignore the cold bit with a hose pipe ban in north west England (shades of 1970s droughts).

Actually I am quite willing to accept that mankind’s activities can have had effect on the planet.
But the motives of greed that would seem to drive the global warming camp would ultimately be like fighting fire with petrol.
It is those attitudes that would have caused whatever problems that may exist, in the first place.
    Hypocrisy, indeed.

I think Sarawitz has it backwards, the AGW alarmists are trying to tell people that the best way to avoid car accidents is to go on a diet.
