We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Now we play games…

Here is a game to fill the time between newsflashes – Dr. Strangeblix…Or How I Learned to Start Worrying and Look for Bombs.

You are ice cool Chief U.N. Weapons Inspector, Dr. Hans Blix. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to enter a not-so-secret PacMan-style Iraqi laboratory and hunt down weapons-grade plutonium canisters, all the while avoiding the sentries and trying to keep your stress level at a minimum. You can try and distract the guards by throwing volumes of your ‘U.N. Resolutions’ around, but beware, there are only limited copies available. If you should fail your mission, Dubya’s gonna start “bomberizing” Iraq. Phew! Talk about pressure…

  • The internet is a strange and wonderful place. 🙂

  • Hmm, I couldn’t win because Blix moved about 20 times too slow to get more than one or 2 weapons.

I wonder if that’s my old computer, or by design?

  • Hello, I made the Dr. Strangeblix game and I can confirm for Ryan that it is indeed his old computer. Anything less than a PII 450 will probably struggle.

    Dear Poster of Message –

Well, very funny, but you miss the point – weapons inspections were not Easter Egg Hunts & Hans Blix wasn’t the Easter Bunny.
1441 was not a request, it was an ultimatum.
Look in your Merriam for the correct meaning of the word ‘ultimatum’.
1441 – states 678(1990) authorized ‘all necessary means to uphold the resolution 660(1990).
There is no way around it.
The Rule of Law must always supersede public opinion polls & popularity contests, otherwise, it will be forever held hostage to the everchanging whims of the people.
The only one responsible for the conditions that now exist in Iraq is Saddam & his Regime.
He brought this on himself & those who are supporting him around the world, are no better because they are supporting a Regime that has tortured, raped, gassed & starved his own people & invaded neighbouring countries.
He has incited hatred for the West since before the first Gulf War and has supported & protected terrorism not only in his own country, Al Ansar, Fedaheen, Medina & Hammarabi, but in Palestine, the Hamas.
When will we open our eyes & see that these groups are all linked together & that people like Saddam are financial supporters of them.
Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists – make your choice, the lines are being drawn in the sand. I am with the Coalition.
