“Britain has a de facto blasphemy law, but it only protects one religion”

“Britain has a de facto blasphemy law, but it only protects one religion”, Michael Deacon writes in the Telegraph.

In February, outside the Turkish consulate in London, a man set light to the Koran. On seeing this, a Muslim man shouted, “I’m going to kill you”, and violently attacked him with a knife.

The first of those two men was convicted three months ago of a religiously aggravated public order offence, and is now living in hiding, having been warned by police that there are several credible threats to his life. But what about the second man, the one with the knife? The one who later told police that he’d merely been trying to “protect my religion”? What happened to him?

Well, here’s your answer. At Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday, he was spared prison. All he got was a 20-week suspended sentence, 150 hours of unpaid work, 10 days of rehabilitation activity, and a bill for £150 in court costs.

I know I’m not alone in feeling that this punishment was possibly a touch on the lenient side. As the Free Speech Union put it: “Had a knife-wielding white male pleaded guilty to attacking a Muslim for breaching a Christian blasphemy code, you can bet your bottom dollar he would have gone to prison.”

  • Nothing less than a factory reset of the UK’s institutions will change this.

While it is not yet de jure, it is de facto that the UK is part of the Ummah now.

I believe that the NHS has just decreed that cousin-marriage is good for building strong clans.

Perry and all, before you push “go” on the factory reset, you might want to get a little intel on how well armed the other side is.

Most Brits are probably obeying the law, including gun ownership laws. But like here in the US and probably everywhere at all times, those on the other side of the law aren’t too concerned about such niceties. Unless of course you think it’s going to be a knife fight?

At this point, the British State and all of its institutions are illegitimate, and I have no confidence whatsoever in the electoral process.

Perry and others – agreed minor reform will not do. British institutions have become like a house that has rotted and decayed – from a distance it still looks like the home it once was (for example the judges, apart from on the new “Supreme Court”, still wear wigs and robes) – but look closer and one sees that it is so corrupted that it is dangerous to enter. It needs clearing and rebuilding from the ground up – as Edmund Burke understood, a conservative does NOT blindly support “the institutions”, the institutions are only fit for support whilst they serve the tradition of justice – of private property rights and the nonaggression principle of the Common Law, when they become the enemy (rather than the defender) of this tradition (when they start to serve the EVIL which is “Social Justice” – the opposite and sworn enemy of justice) – then profound action must be taken.

As for this particular case….. it was not a spur of the moment thing. The follower of Islam was not carrying a knife – he went-and-got-one (malice aforethought – the classic “guilty mind” of prepared, chosen, action) declaring he was going to kill the man who was burning a copy of the Koran (which was NOT stolen – the man owned the book, he had just as much right to burn it as he had a to burn a copy of the Bible IF the copy of the Bible was owned by him). Nor was the burning of the book taking place in the home, or other property, of the follower of Islam, it was taking place on a public street (so, if he wished, the follower of Islam could have informed the local council that a violation of regulations concerning the disposal of waste, which include books, was taking place).

Returning with the weapon he had left the scene to get, the follower of Islam used the knife (which was a bread knife – not the butter knife he sent a picture of to the police – i.e. he LIED to the police, he gave false evidence and tried to pervert the course of justice with this false evidence) declaring that he was going to kill the man who had burned a copy of the Koran (a copy the man owned – again no theft was involved), he also kicked the man in the head as he lay on the ground.

Textbook attempted murder – but the, corrupt, authorities did not even charge him with attempted murder.

As for the remarks of the judge – they were disgraceful, but, sadly – tragically, what we have come to expect from corrupted institutions (see above).

In the early 1980s there was the “Scarman Report” in response to riots by black people in Britain.

These riots were not in response to “Jim Crow” laws in Britain – there have NEVER, at any time, been “Jim Crow” laws in Britain. As for private discrimination – when my father was born, 1913, there were many hotels in New York that a Jew could not enter – but there was not one such hotel in London, or anywhere in the United Kingdom, and nor were the handful of black or brown people who lived in Britain prevented from entering any business enterprise in the United Kingdom – even in 1913.

Nor were the riots in response to lack of “anti discrimination laws” in Britain – there were such laws, starting with the 1965 Act (although why this was passed is unclear – see above) and pushed further by the 1968 and 1976 Acts. And these Acts did not just attack Freedom of Association (which, logically, includes the freedom to not associate) they also attacked Freedom of Speech (although less so than later pieces of legislation such as the “Equality Act” and the “Malicious Communications Act”).

Yet the “Scarman Report” and many other such reports, basically ignored all this – declaring, in effect, that the riots were the fault of British institutions, such as the police, which would have to be changed (via “training” and so on) so the new populations would, supposedly, like them better.

In short the corruption of British institutions did not start last week – or even with “Tony” Blair, it goes back many decades.

I think a huge reset is indeed coming. Unfortunately we may have to wait until 2029. Lord knows what further damage this wave of human spam running the country will manage to inflict before then. I suspect the retribution of the 2030s is going to be brutal.

  • Perry and all, before you push “go” on the factory reset, you might want to get a little intel on how well armed the other side is.

We know from anecdotal comments that there were firearms floating around at the time of the Southport riots last year, but when spotted by a (presumably Muslim police officer) they were told to “take them back to the Mosque”

The truth and extent of all of this is unknown.

  • JohnK

The authorities are scared of islam. That is the top and bottom of it. Not all muslims are prepared to kill in the name of their religion, but enough of them are for it to be serious.

In this case, a previously law abiding muslim was driven to take a knife and attempt to kill a man purely for the “crime” of disrespecting his religion.

Obviously, he authorities did their level best to charge him with the lowest level of crime they could, and then make sure he did no jail time. After all, he only attacked a man with a knife, it’s not like he sent a tweet or anything really serious.

So yes, Paul is right. We are ruled by cowards and lickspittles, who are bending over backwards to appease a growing minority whom they fear, and whom they know wish us harm. It did not work with the Danes, and it will not work now. We are, in short, stuffed.

  • John

    Dan,

The police officer’s words are well documented.

I do not recall claims or any evidence that the weapons in question were firearms.

However I suspect that similar weapons carried on the streets at that tense time by those of different ethnicity would have resulted in immediate arrest and fast-track punishment.

The entire country saw what happened and despite the best endeavours of politicians and the media a huge number chose instead to believe their own eyes. The tension and distrust is now palpable.

“The Saxon is not like us Normans. His manners are not so polite.
But he never means anything serious till he talks about justice and right.
When he stands like an ox in the furrow with his sullen set eyes on your own,
And grumbles, “This isn’t fair dealings,” my son, leave the Saxon alone.

A woman was gang-raped in a Banbury churchyard at the weekend. The police have asked for information but have been very tight-lipped on details themselves. So, they haven’t learned from Southport.

Or have they? Do they want a repeay so they can smoke-out more of the “far-right”?

    Am I too cynical?

Am I crediting the Plod too much for their cunning?

  • Paul Marks

NickM – it is hard to know, are they stupid, or evil, or both? Certainly the academic advisers to government bureaucracies over many decades are evil – “one of them was from your own family Paul” – yes and he was a good example of the type.

John – when the “Saxon” allowed himself, by a serious of measures (it was not done all at once) to be disarmed – he signed his own death warrant, and the death warrant of his people.

JohnK – it is partly fear of Islam, but it is also hatred of the British, especially the English – the “Gammons” as the establishment call the English.

England is not dying a natural death – England is being murdered, and many of the murderers are NOT (yes NOT) Muslim. Many of the murderers of England are English themselves (far more than I am – spot my family name) – but are filled with hatred of the English, of English culture and history – and people, by their “education” and the cultural networks they move in.

Dan Souter – yes “take your weapons back to he Mosques” was the line of the British police.

I suspect they would not have been so kind if they had found “Gammons” carrying weapons.

Patrick – 2029 will be too late, and even if it is not too late – Mr Farage, and so on, may not do anything will have a real effect anyway. Remember we have gone beyond the point where ending mass immigration will prevent the coming crises (either here or in some other Western nations) – natural increase, births, have now taken over. As Mr Powell warned they, eventually would, and his warnings were back in the 1960s – had mass immigration been ended THEN, the coming crises would have been averted.

Still – Perry would argue “worth a try” and he may well be correct.

We shall have to see what the situation is in 2029 – perhaps I am too gloomy, perhaps things will be better then than I think they will be, we shall have to see.
