We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Calm down, dear

I had planned a day of rest with perhaps a little light blogging about kittens. You’re all probably sick of me going on about Brexit. I’m sick of me going on about Brexit. But the latest article from our old friend Baron Heseltine, Companion of Honour, Member of the Privy Council and Lord of the Jungle, is something you need to hear.

But it is in the next phase of negotiations that the details of the UK’s future relationship with the EU will be fleshed out. Depending on what happens in those negotiations, either we will see virtually no change to our current status – in which case, what is the point of leaving? Or, as is much more likely, the Brexiteers will demand significant changes to reflect their own views – views that will appal and frighten much of the electorate when they realise the enormity of what is being done. In essence, Brexiteers want to dismantle much of what we regard as the underpinning of civilised life in the modern world.

He is but the latest prophet to issue this warning. The prophet Tusk spoke thus before the referendum, but the people heeded him not.

“Britain cannot run from today’s global realities of a shrinking world menaced by terrorism, international tax avoidance, giant corporations, superpowers, mass migration, the rise of the far right, climate change and a host of other threats.”

This is one of your conservative leaders?

So, y’all DO understand what we in the USA call “cucks.”

  • Paul Marks

bobby b – yes to call Heseltine a Conservative is demented, yet he has been a leading member of the party since the early 1970s (when he was a follower of Edward Heath – he of the Mao fetish) and helped bring down Mrs Thatcher in 1990.

If we lose on independence (please no more “Brexit” – if we want independence we should at least use the word independence) then there will still be a reason to be involved in politics. Heseltine is a “Lord” now – but there are many Members of the House of Commons like him. The purpose of remaining in politics will be to DESELECT these people – DESELECT, DESELECT, DESELECT.

Make sure they can never stand for the Conservative Party as candidates for Parliament.

We can not coexist with these people (who, as Heseltine’s quote shows, are fanatical ANTI Conservatives) – we have to peacefully remove them from Parliament – they do not represent us, in fact they hate and despise everything ordinary Conservatives stand for. It is high time for the ordinary members of Conservative Associations up and down the country to pass votes of No Confidence in “Remainer” M.P.s – not “just” because they are hostile to the independence of this country from the European Union, but also because they are terrible on everything else as well.

I dunno. Describes my motivations pretty well.

Academic as just now parliament has voted to take over the legislative agenda from the government. Come on Tess, prorogue parliament straight away, you know you want to!

  • Mr Ecks

The FFC is helping the cunts–the chinless bastards wouldn’t say boo to a goose faced with a PM with balls –but she is helping them. She is STILL determined to force her shite BRINO on us with the threat of worse.

So anyone thinking the 5 million fake signatures on the UK government Petition to revoke article 50 are going to be how Theresa gets a vote to betray Brexit through without a GE or referendum? Or are they being kept up to scare MPS? Or simple Civil Service normal?

Only too well, Bobby. When I was young, the (politer?) British term for such people was ‘wet’. Perhaps a stronger term is needed.

If you discover a way to purge your own “right-wing” party of the sort of RINOs who refuse to abolish ObamaCare and won’t fund the wall, do please share. 🙂

Seriously, the simple binary issues of Brexit and the wall are a lever to do exactly this. Making them “stand to be beaten” on a binary issue is much the most effective way to expose and remove. Of course, they refuse to go quietly. Now we just have to avoid being beaten ourselves 🙂 – but since on many issues (free speech in the UK back in 2002, for example), we lose almost before we start, this is an advance.

I fully agree with Mr. Marks, he has Hesseltine to a tee, a non conservstive like too many of the same!
A clear out of both HoL and the Commons is urgently needed.

  • Stuart Noyes

Oh dear, their New World Order under threat?

  • Andrew Duffin

So the underpinning of civilised life requires us to be ruled by a corrupt self-appointing unaccountable anti-democratic beauracy. Who knew?

  • Sam Duncan

    “We”.

Next we should start demanding Citizen initiated binding referendums.

I can unite us all across party lines.

Neither nor remain can be happy with the House of Commons and it will be hard to argue against without sounding like a Nazi….

  • Itellyounothing

    It, not I.

    Sorry.
