We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Samizdata quote of the day

I eagerly await Amnesty’s Human Rights Action Centre being turned over to the BNP for a debate on how changing demographics in England are depleting national pride

Michael Weiss

Superb.

Yes. Quite. But that kind of honesty is dangerous. Just now Mr Weiss will do himself out of his job.

A small point is that, as ever, the point is missed slightly. Such a hypothetical discussion should not be about British pride so much (something one can do without), but rather the survival of western civilisation based, as it is in part, on the ability for restraint and a willingness to defer consumption/gratification.

Yes – “Amnesty” clearly thinks that racists are O.K. as long as they are racists of the left. Racists of the “right” (such as the BNP) are bad.

Of course the BNP (like the Palestinian activist) also believe in a state controlled economy – but “Amnesty” most likely thinks that the BNP are “tools of big business” or whatever.
