Peter Parker is radioactive

Comics taken to a new level:

So Marvel has finally gone porno. In last week’s issue of the new “dark” Spider-Man Reign, it was revealed that Spidey killed his wife MJ with . . . radioactive sperm.

Have they been channelling Dr. Manhatten?

Probably. I’d point out that “Reign” came out in 2007, and is meant to be one of those dark dystopian future What-If tales in the same vein as Batman’s “The Dark Knight Returns”. Also, there’s almost a Marvel cliche where if you live in an alternate universe and Spider-Man or Mary Jane dies, your universe just went dystopian and you need to find another dimension tout suite (cf. Reign, Marvel Zombies, Age of Apocalypse).

    The idea isn’t new

    Superman and Sex

    In which we learn

he’d blow off the top of her head.

Ejaculation of semen is entirely involuntary in the human male, and in all other forms of terrestrial life. It would be unreasonable to assume otherwise for a kryptonian. But with kryptonian muscles behind it, Kal-El’s semen would emerge with the muzzle velocity of a machine gun bullet. (*One can imagine that the Kent home in Smallville was riddled with holes during Superboy’s puberty. And why did Lana Lang never notice that?*)

TDK, you obviously have given the subject a lot of thought, haven’t you?:-)

TDK, the Niven piece on Super-sperm was the first thing that came (errm) to mind when I read about the radioactive Spidey-goo.

Supernatural beings and sex usually leads to interesting speculation. I remember a discussion of Elf sexuality on Eric Raymond’s site. I calculated that if Arwen (who is fertile – she bears Aragorn several children) was anything like a normal human female, she must have had ovaries about the size of grapefruit to be able to lose an ovum every month for 3000 years.
