Tinselbrains in Tinseltown

In a depressingly predictable turn of events, Michael Moore has received the Academy Award for Best Documentary for his mendacious anti-self-defence agit-prop effort Bowling for Columbine.

Equally predictably he used the occasion of the acceptance to do a bit of Grand-standing:

“Fictitious election results that elect a fictitious president… mean we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons – shame on you Mr Bush.”

The ‘Oscar’ ceremony is showing here live in the UK right now so I was treated to the singular displeasure of watching the Michigan Land-Cow being given both an award and a platform. I have to add though, and in fairness to the audience, the initial standing ovation did turn into a resounding wall of boos and jeers and somebody or other wisely grabbed the microphone off him and ushered him off the stage before the whole thing descended into an irredeemable farce.

I daresay that none of that will phase Mr.Moore though. His fictitious documentary has been endorsed with the highest possible accolade with the bonus that he was given a global audience (albeit briefly) for his steaming pile of insights. What more could he possibly desire?

  • It is quite extraordinary that Moore sounds like his European counterparts just through his soundbite. It is ironic that he accuses President Bush of being “fictitious”, an unusual word to employ in order to undermine an opponent anyway, and confirms his own distance from the real.

Should we view this as statement as a confimration Moore’s perceptions are based in Kagan’s post-historical delusional worldview and that a few months living as a female in a burqa, say in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province, might shock his out of his relativism. It would also introduce him to the joys of ululation and gun sex.

Michael Moore is an obnoxious shock jock. I place his expertise about international affairs on the same level as those who enjoyed vomiting over the streets of San Francisco the other day.
He is anti-President Bush, anti-capitalist, anti-Republican party and likely anti- individualist as well.
    blah blah blah Michael Moore.

I think it was great, I wish I had seen it. It sounds like he hase totally stripped himself of any future credibility. First Michael Belleseiles and now this, the anti-gun crowd is running out of leaders.

So Hollywood cheers an anti-liberationist and cheers a child molester. Suprise quotient here: zero.

So Mr. Moore sees the president as fictitious… Is there not a psychiatric term for those who falsely see their undesirable characteristics reflected in others?

I mean other than “raving moonbat.”

It was quality stuff. He should have gotten an Oscar for “Guy Who Publicly Makes the Biggest Ass of Himself In the World”. Several other award recipients said some surprisingly decent things, like wishing the troops back home quickly and safely, and wishing safety upon the Iraqi people. It actually added a touch of class to an event that has sorely lacked it in recent years. Then Moore gives his bizarre rant. He was like the kid who laughs like a lunatic at his own joke, despite the fact that nobody else thinks its funny. It was reassuring to hear so many boo’s and jeers in the audience, even if that was only b/c they didn’t want to tarnish the night with politics, and were holding their tongues.

Buy a Gun for (to spite) Michael Moore Day, April 15

Pass it along to your favorite blogs and email friends. Definitely want/need Photoshop posters in the vein of Meryl Yourish’s “Eat an animal for PETA day.”

Just think that there may be thousands more guns in the hands of responsible Second Amendment-loving citizens BECAUSE of Michael Moore!!!!

Just imagine his nightmares that thousands more guns are purchased in reaction to him. My guess is that his actions may cause more guns to get into in the hands of more Americans than he intended his movie to take away!

Let me know if you add a link or an article.

  • What a newbie putz thing to do. Sorry. Delete my last post. Now I’ll get it right…
