Johnathan Pearce (London)  How very odd! • North American affairs

You may have already heard this but I laughed out loud when I came across this: an officer involved in Dick Cheney's recent difficulties is called Captain Kirk.

Phasers off, gentlemen.

Comments

Alas, he was Charles, not "James Tiberius"...

There was a previous newsworthy Captain Kirk of a Danish trawler raiding our fishing grounds.

Another case of EU deflector shields preventing common sense.

(If I push this story too far in the state it's in, it'll blow apart!)

I keep hearing Tom Lehrer in my head. "Two game wardens, Seven hunters... and a pure bred Guernsey cow!"

But did Cheney say when questioned by the good captain, "beam me up Scotty"?

Was Whittington wearing a red shirt? That would explain a few things...

Ken: Priceless!

You can imagine that he stood up, saw the barrels, looked down at his shirt then tilted his head to the camera with that resigned, deadpan, fatalistic look.
