(1)When Margaret Thatcher privatised electricity generation in the UK, a number of companies were set up to own the power stations, electricity grid, etc. One of these was Powergen. Quite a few other countries followed Britain in power privatisation, and Powergen diversified into other countries by participating in these privatisations. Therefore, the company now has assets in a number of places. Including Italy. Which has led to this extraordinary URL: www.powergenitalia.com.

He also mentioned the www thing of something called Who Represents?, which comes out as whorepresents.com
But you're right, powergenitalia is especially choice.

It seems better known that I realised when I posted it. Oh well.
The Applied Psychology Unit at Cambridge University used to issue e-mail addresses of the form johns@apu.cam.ac.uk, where the login name consisted of the first name followed by the first letter of the last name. I knew someone named Paul Atkins, who got paula@apu.cam.ac.uk. The realy funny one was given to someone named Chris Thomas, who got christ@apu.cam.ac.uk

Yeah, I just hate when I try to link up to powergenitalia and get my offer to connect refused. I find that another couple of stiff drinks often helps, though.
