We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]
I am delighted to say that I failed to see almost all of those films and shows, except via clips in Critical Drinker excoriations. I don’t think popular music has produced anything decent in the past decade either, although I don’t take much interest these days.
The video ends with the reflection that it is not just film and TV, but that it has been a pretty shitty decade all round. I have to concur. As a Brit living in Hong Kong, I have seen my home nation suffer some of the most malignantly fuckwitted ‘leadership’ in its history and my adopted home come increasingly under the boot of the CCP and its dim bulb local helpers. Even on a personal level it’s not been up to much, but I won’t overshare. Still, where there’s drink, there’s hope and it’s past 5pm here!
The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.
