Yesterday the Green Party announced that Zack Polanski (who used to say he could enlarge women’s breasts by the power of his mind) had been elected as its new leader. The party also announced that “two high-profile local councillors had been elected as co-deputy leaders. One of these deputies is Mr Mothin Ali, formerly a local councillor in Leeds. If he is a dab hand at the mental embiggening of ladies’ boobs, he has not mentioned it, but he has said other things that might prove equally controversial.

Now” in May 2024, with the title “Leeds city council member Mothin Ali shares thoughts on events of October 7th” and the caption, “Mothin Ali is the Green Party councilor who shouted ‘Allahu Akbar!’ as he was elected to the Leeds city council. Just because they’re brown and Arab doesn’t mean that they don’t have a right to fight back. You saw the Western support for Ukraine when they fought back against Russia. Palestinians have equal right if not more. They’ve been under occupation for over 70 years, they’ve literally been wiped off the map. They talk about wiping Israel off the map, they’ve wiped Palestine off the map, they’ve put millions of people into refugee camps. They use the pretext of rockets and they use the pretext of people resisting an occupier to further destroy a civilian population and any prospect of a Palestinian home state. They talk about a land free for the Israelis – what about the land for the Palestinians? You’ve taken it all. You’ll see the Western media support Israel, you’ll see Western propagandists on the media presenting some kind of victim narrative. They’re not victims they’re occupiers, the colonialists, they’re European colonialists, it’s one of the last European colonies in the world and that’s why they, the European people, don’t want to let it go.
They use the weapon of anti-Semitism so effectively that anyone who criticizes Israel is labelled an anti-semitic. We see through those lies, we see through that propaganda. People of the world stay strong: support Palestine, support the right of indigenous people to have freedom and to fight back against occupiers.
Edit: I got so involved in doing the transcript that I forgot the whole point of the post. It is this: I support Mr Ali’s right to justify terrorism, not least because I want to know what people like him are saying. But given that Hamas was proscribed as a terrorist organisation in 2021, meaning that, in the words of the gov.uk website, “members of Hamas or those who invite support for the group could be jailed for up to 14 years”, when can we expect Mothin Ali to be treated as Graham Linehan was?
Second edit: On a different tack, these lines from Mothin Ali’s speech jumped out at me this morning:

Leaving aside the question of whether Jews or Arabs have the better claim to be regarded as “the native population” of Israel, has it never occurred to Mothin Ali that the arguments he uses above to justify Palestinians violently attacking Israelis could also be used to justify White British people violently attacking British Muslims?
This man must presumably know of the various two-state solutions that have been attempted over many years. He must have heard it mentioned that “Palestine” was not an actual country, but under the Ottomans and later the British; that many who claim the victim mantle are descendants of folk from Jordan, Egypt and Syria; that hundreds of thousands of Jews were expelled from Northern Africa and the Middle East in the late 1940s; that much of modern Israel was created by settlers that bought land and turned a desert into a garden.
This man must be aware that these points exist. Does he bother to deny them?
In some ways, the coming together of radical greens and Islamists/Israel haters is a very Western thing. It explains why the Frankfurt School Marxists embrace Palestinianism and Greenery: a delight in primitivism, violence and the “oldest hatred”.
In the case of this councillor, I await his views on recycling, nuclear energy and and rewilding.

Once again I recommend the UN’s own site showing that the overwhelming majority of their food relief trucks continue to be intercepted.
One interesting trend is the upper left-hand bar chart and the middle “ring chart” both of which shows a significant increase in the quantities intercepted in August.
This may or may not be related to the levels of un-intercepted aid provided by GHF (which for all the media coverage, other than unsubstantiated yet eagerly repeated reports of proximate casualties, might as well not have been happening).

The only things that the far-left and Islamists have in common are their shared hatreds of Western civilisation and Jewish people. It’s not at all clear that this can keep them together in a single party for any length of time when they take completely incompatible positions on just about everything else. My guess is that the leftists will finally realise this when the Islamists decide to kick them out, but by then they will have already alienated anybody who might have cared, so they will end up with nothing at all.

As I see it the main thread of anti-zionism (which is just anti-semitism in Sunday clothes) is the whole “de-colonialism” stuff. I’m British, born in 1973, and I have never known a British Empire (and no, I don’t think a couple of thousand sheep farmers on the Falklands count as an empire). Why the need to bleat about “decolonising” curricula when we actually vacated the lands decades ago is beyond me.
Leaving countries to their own devices is decolonisation. Making kids feel guilty about what their great-great granddad may or may not have done is bollocks. And “lady bollocks” at that – something Zack Polanski believes exist.
I am impressed that not even I have felt the need to mention David Icke with respect to the Greens turning the mentalist dial past 11. I guess the Turquoise Messiah seems almost quaint these days.

Many of my fellow Jews are an absolute source of shame and despair to me. But then I look at the likes of Mothin Ali and realise where the real threat is.
The widespread goodwill among the non-Muslim world towards Israel following the six-day war has largely been pissed away due in no small part to left-wing Jewish quislings like the green twink.
I’m all in favour of decolonisation. Decolonise politics and science of all the grifters who pursue unreason for the sake of celebrity and/or money.
So no more climate activists, gender identity activists, or obsessive victimhood. The world would be a better place and some of the false ‘issues’ would disappear or fade away. But the grifters would resist the outbreak of reason.
Gaza has not been “occupied” since 2005 – even Jewish graves were removed (as the forces of Islam would have desecrated the graves, had they not been removed). The Gaza salient also has a border with Egypt (Egypt) – it is not surrounded by Israel.
As for the Green Party – they, quite some time ago now, organised a rally, here in Kettering, in de facto support of the Islamic forces who launched the October 7th 2023 attack (and many previous attacks) – arguing that there should be a “cease fire” – which would leave Hamas, and other Islamic groups, in control of the Gaza salient.
The Green Party presently controls all but one seat on Kettering Town Council.
As for Jews who want to get rid of Jews – nothing new in that.
The Soviet Marxists set up a whole organisation, staffed by Jews, whose purpose was to destroy Judaism. It was very active – both domestically (trying to undermine religious belief – making up stories that rabbis were child rapists and-so-on) and internationally – trying to undermine Zionism (especially of the non socialist sort – not they loved the socialist Zionist faction either).
That organisation was created more than a century ago.

One of the founders of the Spanish Inquisition was of Jewish origin – he was always trying to “kill the Jew in himself”, by killing lots of other Jews.
As for “brown” – if, if – as he seems to be claiming, “brown” people belong in the Middle East, why is Mr Ali in Britain?

No. He ought not to be arrested. He ought to be ignored.
Spiro, what NickM said. My point was not that Mothin Ali should be arrested as Graham Linehan was, but that Graham Linehan should not have been arrested as Mothin Ali was not.
There was not sufficient justification for arresting either of them, but Ali’s remarks came closer to justifying arrest than Linehan’s did, because unlike Linehan’s purely theoretical scenario, Ali was defending violence by an actual terrorist group that was committing atrocities at the very moment he was speaking.
