We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Samizdata quote of the day – Selling England by the Pound This is not a change of heart. A change of heart is permitted to an honest man, and he announces it, and he takes the consequences. This is something else. It is a man who held one view in the pub in Ashton and holds the opposite in the Berlaymont, and who will not say rejoin and will not say no, because either word would cost him somebody.
– Gawain Towler

Who Are We? The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.

Prime Minister Burnham is a faithful servant of the International Community of which the European Union is part – he follows its agenda, just as Prime Minister Tusk does in Poland, or the new Congress will do in the United States from January 2027.
None of these are independent agents – any more than elected councillors in Britain really decide to have little boxes for “food waste” (on top of three full sized bins) – they do this because it is “national legislation” but Members of Parliament did not think of this either – most of them do not even read the stuff they rubber stamp, they certainly do not come up with the statutes they pass, and most regulations are made up by officials anyway – officials working under guidence from external sources (for the officials do not really come up with Policy either).
Mr Burnam will do what he is told to do – just as Speaker of the House of Representatives Hakeem Jeffries will do what he is told to do.
None of these people have ever had an independent thought in their lives – their thoughts are what they are “educated” to think, and “their” policies are handed to them.
Sometimes it is actually funny – for example Prime Minister Alexander “Boris” Johnson attacking, often mocking with utter contempt, the very policies he was rubber stamping – and not just on Covid.
I suppose it could be argued that he was worse – as people like Mr Burnham and Mr Jeffries do not actually know they are doing bad things – rubber stamping terrible policies, but Mr Johnson did know – and did it anyway, because he wanted to be Prime Minister.
Political leaders who go against the international establishment (the international Corporate State, the International Community – whatever you want to call it) get removed.
It took 11 years in the case of Margaret Thatcher (the last Prime Minister to achieve anything good in the United Kingdom) it took only a few weeks to get rid of Liz Truss (or Mary O’Leary – but that was thought to sound a bit too Irish).
The power of the international community – corporate state (such as Google, with its absurdly biased search engine and absurdly biased AI, or the United Nations – the all follow the same agenda) has grown terrible indeed.
As President Trump has just discovered – although that is partly his own fault, a military campaign that should have been won in a few weeks was allowed to drag on for more than eight months. Was he badly advised? Of course he was – but it was still, in the end, his own fault – his obsession with “talks and deals” rather than destroying-the-enemy.
The reason the International Community so hate Israel is NOT a particular hatred of Jews – not really.
It is the hatred of the idea of an independent nation-state – a national-people.
The agenda is to destroy all nations – to destroy their independence, their very existence as peoples.
Somone like Vice President Vance thinks he can save America by throwing Israel under the bus – and IF so then YES he might have an argument, seven million people sacrificed in order to save hundreds of millions of people (indeed sacrificed to save the only hope the world has – the United States of America) – but he does not understand that the same people who wish to destroy Israel also wish to the destroy the United States, destroy the American people – and they are well advanced in this project.
Matt Walsh argues that it would be better for Islamic Republic of Iran to have nuclear weapons than to lose Congress to monsters (and they are monsters – he is not wrong about the Democrats being monsters, they are monsters), after all, he argues, the Iranians would only have a few nuclear weapons and even if they could get them to the United States they would only have destroyed a few cities at most – cities mostly, now, made up of people who not Americans and hate (actually hate) the principles of the United States – they are Democrats, overwhelmingly so.
I see the argument of Mr Walsh (and he is an intelligent man and a good speaker) – but I think he is mistaken, both on moral grounds (the people in the cities, despicable though most of them are, are still human beings – it would be wrong to allow them to die in nuclear explosions when this could have been prevented) and on practical grounds.
Say the Islamic Republic of Iran had been allowed to develop its plans and had “only” destroyed one (just one) American city. Could any American President have survived that? The media would have got the information that the President knew of the IRI plans and did nothing to prevent them – he would have had to resign.
Better than saying the war should not have been fought – why not WIN it, as could have been done many months ago.
The United Kingdom may be destroyed, indeed it is very likely indeed that what is left of the liberty (the indepedence) of the British people will be destroyed – most of it already has been destroyed. But the world can survive that – sad though it is for us who live in the United Kingdom.
The world can not survive the destruction of what is left of the liberty of the American people (and that is the agenda of the International Community and its local followers in the United States).
If America goes there is no hope for liberty in this world – it is that brutally simple.
So an American President who was like “Andy” Burnham – bringing treaties to be rubber stamped by a Democrat (and RINO) dominated United States Senate, would be an unfortunate development.
Make no mistake – all the agreements that Prime Minister Burnham “makes” (documents that he will not even read – let alone understand their contents) will be rubber stamped by Parliament and the Monarch – whatever the agreements are, getting rid of what is left of liberty in this land. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
That must not be the fate of the United States after 2029.
