Samizdata quote of the day – The suicidal vanity of Palestine Action

Last night in London, four days after the slaughter of Jews in our cousin nation of Australia, radical leftists held a vigil. For the dead Jews? Don’t be daft. It was for the Palestine Action hunger strikers. It was for those silver-spooned self-harmers, those preening, plummy food-dodgers who think they can do to the nation what they once did to mummy and daddy: stomp their feet until they get what they want. And there you have it: self-styled anti-fascists weeping not for the Jews murdered by fascists, but for vain, posh Brits whose torment is wholly self-inflicted.

I recall when Bobby Sanfs, the IRA tertorist, went on hunger strike. People donated snooker cue cases to use as a coffin. Perhaps a repeat for the privileged numpties wouldn’t go amiss?

  • You’ve also got the so called “friends” of Palestinian Action hunger strikers standing outside HMP Bronzefield calling ambulances for prison inmates and wondering why they aren’t being released from prison and ambulances turned away at the gates.

Takes a special kind of idiocy for that sort of thing.

Should be charged with the costs of any ambulances called and wasting the time of the emergency services.

The Jews were murdered by followers of Islam – people following the teachings, and the personal example (the actions – deeds) of Mohammed (various spellings). After all Mohammed murdered or enslaved all the Jews in Arabia and taught his followers to never make friends of Jews or Christians – although pretending to be their friends (in order to lull them into a false sense of security) is allowed. Mohammed taught that people who called themselves Muslims but OPPOSED attacks on infidels (the plundering and enslavement of infidels) were “hypocrites” (not true Muslims) and should, according to him, be killed.

After October 7th 2023 the left (including leftists from Jewish families – “Jews” eager, yes eager, for the extermination of Jews), in many countries, celebrated the mass rape and murder – they were not protesting the “Occupation” of Gaza because there was, at that time, no occupation of Gaza, and they were not condemning Jewish attacks on Gaza because in the first days after October 7th 2023, the Jews were still confused and were not really doing much.

Why do the left support Islam? Perhaps (perhaps) it is on the “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” grounds – the mutual enemy being the “Capitalist West”. With followers of Islam being seen as a “victim group” “exploited and oppressed” by “Capitalist Jews” and “Capitalist Christians” (ironically this absurd Frankfurt School “Critical Theory” interpretation of Marxism was originally developed by people from Jewish families – people from Jewish families developing ideas that would be used to justify the extermination of Jews).

What is the real attitude of the forces of Islam, the people who actually support the teachings and personal example of Mohammed, towards their leftist allies?

Amusement and contempt – to use the term often used by Marxists themselves (about “liberal” Fellow Travelers) the forces of Islam, the people who actually support the teachings and personal example of Mohammed, regard their Marxist (and non Marxist leftist) allies as “useful idiots” – who they will eliminate when they are no longer useful.

Islam is a powerful civilization, built on deep thought about how to expand and dominate, that has lasted 14 centuries – the left is just a collection of “educated” cretins – whose societies (when put into practice) always destroy themselves. It is not hard to predict which one will last into the future.

Should we be upset when the leftists, who celebrated mass rape and murder, are raped and murdered themselves? Raped and murdered by their “friends”.

No comment. I express no opinion on this question.

It must not be supposed that all these leftist allies of the forces of the Crescent Moon are Marxists – witness “Sir Ed” Davy, the leader of the Liberal Democrat Party – who is NOT a Marxist.

“Sir Ed” goes on about the “genocide” the Jews are supposed to have committed (although what group of people the Jews are supposed to have exterminated he does not explain) with the same gusto he goes on about how what little independence the United Kingdom has left should be totally crushed by a “Customs Union” with the hostile Corporate-State power that is the European Union.

That Corporate State (public-private partnership of “Stakeholder Capitalism”) doctrine (Fascism as Mussolini called it) is the opposite of true Liberalism (the liberalism of Gladstone of John Bright) is something that “Sir Ed” does not understand – no more than he understands Islam (indeed he screams “Islamophobe!” at anyone who states basic facts about Islam) or anything else.

The classic NON Marxist “Fellow Traveler”.

“Liberalism” being redefined as “waving in a senile way, at anything that calls itself Progress”.

As for Islam – it was well described by such people as President John Adams of the United States, and by Prime Minister Gladstone and Winston Churchill in the United Kingdom.

All of whom would be sent to prison for three years, without trial-by-jury, if they said such things in modern Britain.

  • Paul Marks.

The United States is likely to follow the same dark path.

The media lies against President Trump are much more sophisticated now than they were in his first term – election results prove the media agit-prop campaign is having real effects. As is leftist control of the education system – most young people, especially young (and not so young) women are filled with lies – their most basic beliefs are based on lies, lies that have been put into them by a vast and long standing campaign by the establishment.

When the left take over Congress and the Presidency they will appoint Supreme Court “Justices” who will destroy what is left of the Bill of Rights – the Tenth Amendment went long ago (even in the 1930s the principle that there was a limit on what the Federal Government could spend money on, was dead – the “common defense and general welfare” being “reinterpreted” from being the PURPOSE of the specific spending powers – into being a “general welfare spending power” which makes the Constitution, in the sense of any limit on government, a nullity), the Second and First Amendments will follow.

Remember what happened to Article One, Section Ten – it was never repealed, but the principle that only gold or silver coin may be legal tender in any State has been “reinterpreted” (as someone said on this very site “it does not explicitly say the Federal Government may not produce fiat money – so…..” so not-legal-tender in any State, means legal-tender-in-all-States).

Not “make anything but gold or silver coin a tender in payment of debts” is about as clear as can be – if shyster lawyers can “reinterpret” that (and they have) they can also make such things as the First and Second Amendments a nullity – and turn the United States into Britain (or Russia – under Mr Putin, for his regime hates such things as the First and Second Amendments).

In a few years America will be like Britain – people who speak against the rising (increasing numbers of) hostile populations will be sent to prison for “Hate Speech” – and, already, such people (people who warn about what is happening) are driven from their jobs and persecuted.

  • Paul Marks.

Remember that intellectual giant (sarcasm alert) who is Attorney General of the United States right now – “Hate Speech is not Free Speech” the lady said, seemingly unaware that this hands the left a knife which they will use to cut the throats of all who oppose them.

No wonder the Deputy Director of the FBI is resigning (in despair) – the position appears to be without hope.

  • Paul Marks.

But we are dealing with a population that, mostly, does not even know that “Stakeholder Capitalism” (the World Economic Forum, BlackRock, and so on) is Corporate State (“public-private-partnership”) Fascism.

As for you Mr Larry Fink – you, for many years, have supported groups that what exterminate your own people – Jewish people.

“But I did not KNOW” is no excuse – you are not a child, it was your responsibility to understand what groups you were supporting, by both money and demanding the companies discriminate against certain people (straight-white-males) – ignore merit when recruiting.

In a sane society, without Credit Money (the Cantillon Effect), entities such as BlackRock – would-not-exist, let alone have a stranglehold over the economy.

She made an error, and has since apologized for it.

But Hilary and her friends thank you for your support.

    😉

(Find me the perfect side and the perfect people to support. I’ve looked, but everyone I see has some imperfection.)

Question — these morons who are refusing their dinner: if we were to bake cookies or bread outside their cells and waft the smell inside — would that be considered torture under the Geneva conventions?

I suppose in the past when Israel was bombing and there was a lot of collateral damage, or where Hamas was stealing all the truckloads of aid being sent to the civilians, there might have been some reason to their protest. But didn’t all that stop? Isn’t massive amounts of aid getting shipped into Gaza? I presume since the news isn’t bleating on about it that the situation there has drastically improved.

I had a quick look and found this on that pro Zionist publication Al Jazeera. If the big complaint is that their internet is a bit slow and flaky so software developers are late on their deadlines, I think we can probably say we are out of “humanitarian crisis” mode.

  • bobby b

I thought I understood the storyline of the hungerstrikers, and was very comfortable making fun of them.

Then I watched this vid by Carl Benjamin – not really a progressive lion – and I’m wondering if there is a “good side” in this fight.

  • Fraser Orr

    @bobby b
Then I watched this vid by Carl Benjamin – not really a progressive lion – and I’m wondering if there is a “good side” in this fight.

Thanks for sharing the interesting video. My reaction is that two different sides can be bad. There is no good side. The protesters are both reasonably obviously guilty (though certainly presumed innocent), and the government’s behavior is utterly reprehensible. But we knew that already. We knew that “never let a crisis go to waste” governments would relish the outrageous power the word “terrorist” seemed to convey on them. And there is a certain degree of schadenfreude when a bunch of aging lefties and actual left wing terrorists are hoist on their own petard — when their advocacy for big government and suppression of civil rights in their own causes comes back to bite them in the ass.

However, two years pretrial detention is an utter outrage. “Arrest them and sort it out later” is an utter outrage. I think I have said many times here that the process of pre-trial detention where the presumed innocent are thrown in the same jails as the proven guilty is deeply unjust. If a person is held pre-trial without bail their terms of incarceration should be as non punitive as possible, and certainly a speedy trial is even more of a pressing matter when on pre-trial detention than when on bail.

But of course that misses the point, doesn’t it? The process IS the punishment for those who’d deign to embarrass or challenge the government. Would that it were only Labour governments who behaved this way. Unfortunately they all do to some degree or other.

  • bobby b

“And there is a certain degree of schadenfreude when a bunch of aging lefties and actual left wing terrorists are hoist on their own petard — when their advocacy for big government and suppression of civil rights in their own causes comes back to bite them in the ass.”

    Oh, absolutely!

But then I think, if they’ll be this punitive toward their own committed people, imagine what they’d not hesitate to do to you and me.

There’s a degree of ruthlessness popping up in England’s lameduck government that is scary, for reasons that Benjamin convincingly explains.

  • John

There is an article on Worstall’s blog today about Labour lacking a coherent strategy.

I see concerted and largely sympathetic (as opposed to the responses on social media which are overwhelmingly along the lines of “eat a sandwich”) media coverage about these unlovely individuals following closely after Lammy stating his intention to largely reduce the right to jury trials. I view this as an obvious coherent strategy backed up by the ever-dependable flying monkeys of Fleet Street and Broadcasting House.

I suppose the only bright spark is the sight of retired clergymen and trustafarians being sacrificed for the good of the party. If I was a better person I’d be more concerned, like Benjamin, about their rights. But I’m not.

    Eat a bloody sandwich.

  • NickM

But St Greta refused a Zionist sandwich and we must follow in Her Righteous Path!

In a more enlightened World that Hobgoblin of Doom would have been burnt at the stake on a pile of old tyres and the Hell with the CO2!

I don’t think Labour is displaying ruthlessness as much as fear. They are terrified not just of an electoral wipe-out but of civil war. Their only response is to lock people up. Of course that only makes things worse…

  • Paul Marks.

bobby b – the person who gave support to “Hillary and her side” was the Attorney General of the United States (that is not me).

Talking about “Hate Speech” not being Free Speech is more than an error – it is disqualifying.

No wonder the Deputy Director of the FBI is resigning in despair.

    WAKE UP Sir.

  • Fraser Orr

    I said:
The protesters are both reasonably obviously guilty (though certainly presumed innocent), and the government’s behavior is utterly reprehensible.

I read this again this morning… too much holiday “cheer” at a party I was at last night. I want to make it clear I’m talking about the guy who whacked a security guard paralyzing her, and the guys breaking and entering and damaging RAF property. I am not at all talking about granny waving a “Stop the Palestinian Genocide” sign on Westminster bridge. I might disagree with her, I might think she is clueless and nuts, but OF COURSE she has the right to say whatever damn thing she wants, and the idea that the cops might throw her in jail for expressing an unapproved or embarrassing view for a day never mind two years, is an utter abomination.

  • Paul Marks.

    Fraser Orr.

I agree these evil folk (for evil they are) should be allowed to say anything they want to.

The right should also be allowed to say anything we want to – not be sent to prison for years (soon – without Trial by Jury).

    As for old grandmothers….

Mark Steyn has pointed out that in the past Professors in universities might be rotten with evil – but the little old Miss Marple types in the country would be sane and good – but not any more.

They denounce “genocide” as “Projection” – to distract attention from the genocide they would like to commit themselves.

Yes – that school teacher, or librarian (or whatever), wants to impose Collectivism and, yes, murder millions of human beings.

And not “just” Jews – all “exploiters and oppressors” as they see it.

The corruption that started with a small group of people, the Apostles Club in Cambridge, the Fabian Society, the Bloomsbury Set – has now spread much more widely.

And not only in Britain – in the United States as well.

This is ideological war – ideological war with a ruthless enemy.

And people who do not understand that – have no business being in positions of authority.

“Do you believe that Britain is in danger from an enemy?”

Most certainly – but that enemy is the government of the United Kingdom and almost every institution.

The same is true in many Western nations.

  • Dyspeptic Curmudgeon

“I don’t think Labour is displaying ruthlessness as much as fear.”

This is one of those “embrace the power of “AND” moments, I think. Ruthlessness borne of fear. Valid fear, I hope.

  • Spiro Ozer

I am surprised anyone reads Brendan O’Neill any more. He has simply lost it over the Gaza business, calling anyone and everyone who disagrees with him a Jew-hater. He must have lost Spiked a shedload of potential subscribers.

  • Paul Marks.

    Spiro Ozer – you are a “Jew-hater”.

But the forces you support would not “just” destroy Jews – they would destroy other people as well.

“lost Spiked a shedload of potential subscribers”.

No decent person wants a subscription from the supporters of Islamic groups – responsible for mass rape and mass murder.
