In May 2020, I wrote a piece called ‘Britain’s Covid Reich’. I commented:
One of the most remarkable aspects of the creation of Britain’s Covid Reich was that even in the middle of the Government’s witless, confused and ambivalent approach to the crisis it was able to rustle up overnight many of the key ingredients of totalitarianism. The ideology and the slogans, and the continual repetition of the message with the supine assistance of broadcast media all fell into place with frightening speed. The speed with which the Great British Public acquiesced was even more alarming.
One possibility I anticipated was:
In one direction lies the complete end of everything we have ever held dear and a life literally not worth living, a mere spectral existence in a paralysed and terrified surveillance state of agoraphobics queuing up like mendicant friars for government handouts.
I thought I was going over the top when I wrote that. But that’s exactly what’s happened – hasn’t it? Back then I thought there was a more optimistic possible alternative, but I was wrong.
Few politicians, few scientists and even worse few in the so-called free press seemed to be able to understand that the measures the Government was imposing were going to leave a legacy that would, and has, set Britain back by half a century and perhaps change it permanently. Anyone who dared to stray from the state propaganda line was shot down in flames.
So it is almost beyond belief to see that the confused and contradictory Covid Inquiry has continued to ignore the impact of lockdown…

In a society where politicians, scientists, and reporters are functionally creatures of the government, fearing the powers of the State; any “reports” issued by the government and reports thereupon will reflect the will of the State and not truth.

As Mr Ed pointed out at the time – it may not have been “overnight”, the regulations seem to have been written long before Covid, and Covid was, perhaps, being used as a justification (an excuse) for pre written regulations.
Still, be that as it may, the facts are as follows……
The lockdowns did NOT save lives – as can be seen by the countries (and a few American States) that did lockdown not having a higher death rate than Britain and other nations (and American States) that did have lockdowns. Whether the objective of the lockdowns was to reduce the death rate can be debated (see above) – but the FACT that they did NOT reduce deaths is clear. Yet the dishonest (despicably dishonest) “Inquiry” relied on long discredited Computer Models (rather than real evidence) and declared that there should have been even more extreme totalitarianism – that the lockdowns were “too little, too late”.
And “totalitarianism” is the correct word – British people had LESS liberty under the lockdowns than they did in either World War or under the military dictatorship of Cromwell and the Major Generals – indeed we had less liberty under the lockdowns than people had-or-have in such tyrannies as Nicaragua or Belarus. Anyone who, at this point, still defends the lockdowns, let alone declaring that they were “too little, too late” reveals themselves as a totalitarian – whose objective is nothing to do with “saving lives” from a disease – and everything to do with reducing the public to slavery or serfdom.
What would have “saved lives” is, as many medical doctors and medical scientists (I can list some of them if you wish) pointed out, EARLY TREATMENT of the disease – Early Treatments most certainly existed and were used, with success, in some countries – but NOT in Britain. In Britain, and many other Western countries, people were given no Early treatment – and were left to get worse and then taken into hospital at a late stage of the disease (some have suggested that the purpose of this policy was to inflate the death rate – but that may be too cynical a view).
As for the injections, falsely (falsely) called vaccines (by pre 2020 medical definition the injections were NOT vaccines)- they did not prevent people getting Covid, or passing on Covid, or dying of Covid. Indeed the injections have led to deaths and injuries – although this is still being covered up.
The international establishment, especially the British part of it, have made their position clear – they are hostile, actively hostile, to both the liberty and to the health of the public.
It should also be pointed out that Covid was artificially enhanced – in the facility near Wuhan in China. Whether it was released accidentally or deliberately is not known – but it come from these labs, a facility that such such British people as Peter Daszak, of the “Eco Health Alliance” and “World Health Organisation”, both political organisations – whose real agenda is totalitarianism (Collectivist domination over individual human beings and families) not fighting disease in individual patients, were involved with.
Whilst people such as Peter Daszak and Tony Fauci are treated as respected public servants, not as the terrible people they really are, the danger of a return to their policies continues – especially in the United Kingdom, the U.K. branch of the international establishment being particularly bad.
Lastly one should remember the international wave of establishment smears and disinformation from 2020 onwards – anyone who told the truth about the origins of Covid, or the Early treatments for Covid, or the evil uselessness of the lockdowns, or the dangers of the injections (which were NOT vaccines) was systematically smeared and persecuted – even if they were doctors or medical scientists (indeed especially if they were doctors or medical scientists).
And the entire media (and units such as the 77th Brigade of the British Army) were deployed to spread lies – were deployed to deceive the public.

For decades, screaming morons have asserted that other people just existing and getting on with their lives were a threat to the lives of the complainers, would destroy society and must have their lives restricted, destroyed, expelled. To them we shouted them down as bigots, sexists, racists, homophobes. During Covid instead we pandered to them and restricted, destroyed, expelled the people being complained about.
