We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata quote of the day – the Islamo-left is on the march across Britain

The next time someone asks what we mean when we say ‘Islamo-left’, I’m going to show them footage from yesterday’s protest in Whitechapel in East London. What a morally suicidal schlep that was. What an unholy union of witless leftists and menacing Islamists. ‘Refugees welcome here!’, cried the granola-fed grads of the limp-wristed left. ‘Allahu Akbar!’, barked the masked mob of religious hotheads. Rarely has the lethal idiocy of the left’s bed-hopping with Islamism been so starkly exposed.

Brendan O’Neil is correct – and thank you to Thomas Fairfax for posting this.

The Spectator magazine has, this week, a cover article on the alliance between the left and the warriors of Islam – but as I just pointed out on another thread, the absurdity of this alliance is being exposed on-the-ground.

When a leftist went up to this paramilitary (and it was paramilitary – black de facto uniforms and face coverings – the police did NOTHING these things, although if anti immigrant protesters wore de facto uniforms and face coverings they would be arrested by the police and punished by the courts) “protest” in Whitechapel, Tower Hamlets, London (which was blocking the road, letting off flares and fireworks and attacking the town hall – the police doing nothing) and said “we are on the same side brother” he got a shock…..

“No we are not” a follower of Islam politely, and correctly, replied. Islam despises “feminism”, “LGBTQ….” and so on – it has no use for the left, other than for servitude.

In Denmark the Social Democrats seem to have worked out that the forces of Islam are not their friends – but in Britain and other Western nations (including the United States – yes including America) the penny has not dropped – and the left still think they can “use” Islam.

I am reminded of Iran in 1979 (yes I am that old)- the left and the Islamists joined forces to overthrow the Shah (the Iranian Emperor) – but after he had gone, the left turned round and slaughtered the left, cut them to pieces (literally).

Still some female leftists may be of use to these warriors – “what the right hand holds” and so may, possibly, not be killed.

These religious fanatics know they can get away with this, as their masks hide their identities, so they can avoid prosecution. If the numpties in government really wanted to stop this, in the interests of public order, they could ban mask wearing in demonstrations. The main protagonists can then be identified and prosecuted. Unfortunately, with so many muslims, and anti-semites in positions of authority, this will never happen.
“The West is a woman, ready to be mounted.” and ” In twenty years time, we will be in the majority; we will be the government; and Sharia will be the law. ” are only two of the boasts heard, yet it seems no one who needs to listen,is doing so.

Does anyone else see the future of Britain?

I fear for the future. I fear the country descending into a Yugoslavia style civil war.

I lived in London in the 80s and 90s. It was then an 80% white British city. It is now a 33% (if that) white British city. At present, England is still 80% white British. Within forty years, the white population of England is predicted to become a minority. What then? Will the masked up muslim mobs of Tower Hamlets be kind? Will they treat dhimmis the way muslim rulers always have?

Maybe I should not worry. What will be will be. Meanwhile, Nicky Campbell and the rest of the BBC bien pensants can have fun with Sarah Pochin noticing that 50% of the population as shown on TV adverts is black. How dare she?

The thing is, since Sarah Pochin immediately caved and apologised, I would say interventions like hers are useless. If you’re going to say something like that, and I agree with her sentiments for sure, make it mean it and never apologise. If you haven’t got the gumption to hold the line then keep quiet.

  • Marius

There is no alliance between the left and the Islamofacists. There are only useful idiots manipulated by people who despite them.

Sarah Pochin immediately caved and apologised

How disappointing. Will people never learn? The correct answer to her critics is: everything I have said is correct and there are data to confirm it, so why are you denying it?

  • Paul Marks

    Pensievat.

They (the people who blocked the road in Whitechapel) – are the mainstream – so is it correct to call them fanatics? There are so many millions of them around the world – and millions in Britain.

And even if they have their faces uncovered – they are NOT prosecuted for obstruction, or for wearing uniform on a political protest, or for other things, the state DE FACTO sides with them, the police, the politicians, the officials, the judges, and the Head of State himself – I refer you to his Christmas broadcast of 2024, not an isolated incident – part of a pattern of behaviour.

True the establishment is not consistent – for example His Majesty was today at a new memorial for “LGBTQ….” members of the armed forces (it is reported that the Gentleman showed great emotion), this can not be logically reconciled with his affection for Islam (the quote from the relevant hadith is “kill the one who does it, and kill the one to whom it is done”) – but the establishment do not have to be logically consistent.

I am so old I can remember when Blooms restaurant was in Whitechapel (I used to go there with my late father – I am glad he did not live to see things as they are now) – and yet people wonder why I no longer regard life as attractive.

  • Paul Marks

On the advertising point – the relevant “professional association” that covers advertisers, regards spreading supposedly positive political and cultural messages as far more important than selling soap – or any other commercial product or service.

“But how can that be – do we not live in a capitalist economy?” – no we do not live in a capitalist economy, we live in an economy dominated by Credit Money (not the lending out of Real Savings – the actual sacrifice of consumption) and vast Corporations (who pay vastly lower tax rates than individuals and families – and have other legal advantages) and which, contrary to the late Milton Friedman, are NOT owned or controlled by “Aunt Agatha” style share holders – most shares being controlled by institutions.

Pleasing customers has got lower and lower down the list of priorities of these vast (and Credit Money financed) corporate bureaucracies, over the years and decades.

Ask yourself when, for example, Mr Larry Fink, head of BlackRock (and BlackRock, State Street and Vanguard have shares in-each-other) and head of the World Economic Forum, actually served a customer or made a product or service.

I suspect the answer is that he has never done these things – in his entire life. Certainly he has not done these things in many years. His priorities are political and cultural (which is common to the international establishment) not commercial.

One might as well ask why Disney, Netflix and Amazon do not bother to make films and television programmes that ordinary customers would like – instead making films and television shows that they know (they KNOW) that most people will not like.

Pleasing customers is not what the present Credit Money Corporate State is about.

  • Paul Marks

“And when did YOU, Paul, last serve a customer?” – today, at the local art shop, just as I did yesterday.

  • bobby b

We need to strongly encourage this alliance.

Mostly because it will be fun to watch the eventual battle, and then we can take on the weakened winner.

  • Robert the Biker

Allah? Never heard of the bitch!

  • Paul Marks

bobby b – we would be dead at the time.

They will only FULLY turn on each other – after we are dead.

britain has chosen its path. It will be a rocky one. America is choosing its path. It will be an unpleasant one too, but at least we have a better chance of a better ending.

  • From the linked article,

[UKIP] had hoped to hold its own protest in Whitechapel yesterday. It was clearly a provocation: they targeted Whitechapel precisely because it has a large Muslim population. A Ukipper’s wet dream is to wang on about ‘Islamist invaders’ and the need for ‘remigration’ as Bangladeshi Brits look on with alarm. A wind-up masquerading as a march.
…Anyone who says ‘They were just criticising Zionism’ is going to get slapped. Our crisis is too pressing for pussy-footing. When the devotees of a hardcore species of Islam take to the streets to fume about ‘Zionists’, we know who they mean… Are we really going to do that dumb dance of saying, ‘Criticising Zionism is not the same thing as hating Jews’? Stop it. I’m tired.
…I agree UKIP’s chants were racist. To brand Muslims ‘Islamist invaders’ and demand their ‘remigration’ is vile bigotry.

Is there any chance that ‘the devotees of a hardcore species of Islam’ could constitute ‘Islamist invaders’? Not necessarily now, but at some level of population or influence?
If so, can you suggest how to protest against said devotees without being a vile bigot or a ‘provocation’?
If not, how are they relevant to a crisis ‘too pressing for pussy-footing’?

“They will only FULLY turn on each other – after we are dead.”

Then they will never fully turn on each other.

They can die in each other’s embrace.

It’s going to be hard and long, but we’re not going to lose.

  • Johnathan Pearce

When I saw the masked Islamists march, it gave the same vibe as the balaclava-masked IRA folk who marched back in the 70s and 80s. Well, how did that work out?

And the madder ends of Irish opinion seem quite keen on the Palestinian cause. The PLO and IRA shared ideas on tactics. Birds of a feather.

The fact that these people can dress like paramilitaries, march through east London, bold as fucking brass, chills the blood. It’s bordering on insurrection.

These militants look at the state of Britain, and its hapless government, and can barely believe their luck.

I fear there’s a non-trivial chance of a major atrocity in one of our major cities in the next 12 months. It’s why I avoid crowds. Be vigilant.

I am reminded of the story/novel “I am Legend” and the protagonist, Robert Neville, realising that, once everyone except him is a zombie, then HE is the monster and the abnormality.

The fate of the white British? Maybe they will realise that they are, finally, in their own land the “monsters” and non mainstream.

By then, of course, it will be way too late.

My initial impression from reading social media reports (why waste your time with the bbc et al?) was that any police in attendance were not in riot gear and effectively did nothing.

I have tried to find firm evidence to confirm or deny what would have been a most surprising policy. An internet search for images of “Whitechapel March” mainly yielded black and white photos from the 1930s. Refining the search to “Whitechapel March 2025” added shots of merchandise for a group I had never heard of previously plus a rather pleasing image of the famous bell foundry.

I gathered the distinct impression that the search engine algorithm was ignoring an event of major national importance which had taken place barely 48 hours previously. If so then the Ministry of Truth is very much alive and well.

  • John

This morning it’s not in the bbc works news page, or the England page, or even the London page.

It’s as if it never happened. However a deep trawl, page 4 or 42 on the London news link, revealed this:-

    John,
Serious disorder. Yup. But from who?

    JP,
I dunno. The Islamists are getting what they want. I do think there is a reasonable chance of someone burning a mosque down and there will be Hell to pay after that.

Morlochs and Eloi arm in arm. How does this end? Or maybe we should recall the Walrus and the Carpenter?

“is it correct to call them fanatics”.
To me, any person who religiously follows a specific creed, be it political or religious, denies any other point of view, and is capable of subjugation or killing those of that opposite point of view, is a fanatic.
The SS of Nazi Germany were fanatics, Stalin and his supporters were fanatics, the inner members of the CCP are fanatics, and followers of Islam, no matter how nice they smile (think taqqiya)are fanatics.

  • Paul Marks

    Penseivat – understood.

Johnathan Pearce – what they did was illegal, the de facto uniform, the face coverings (a “right winger” got fined for wearing a face covering at an anti immigrant protest – yet there were no arrests for young male followers of Islam for wearing face coverings), the blocking of the road, the fireworks and flares being let off in the street – all illegal.

And the police did NOTHING – because they have received “training” which has taught them that “disadvantaged groups” are automatically good – regardless of what they do.

And the entire establishment hold this position – right up to His Majesty himself (which is why he has such emotional support for BOTH Islam and for “LGBTQ….” – both supposedly “disadvantaged groups” you see, both supposedly persecuted by the supposedly evil British people, and telling him that under Islamic Law “LGBTQ…” would be executed, would have no effect on the Gentleman – he would just call you an “Islamophobe” – and, soon, you would be sent to prison for “anti Muslim hate”).

I am poor – but you are not, get out of this country whilst you still can.

bobby b – I hope you are correct that Americans will win against the left.

Perhaps there is hope for the United States (I do not know) – but there is no hope here, at least none I can see.

We struggle on – but without hope.
