I would not be surprised if a) the allies of the Bondi Beach shooters do not take revenge on him, and b) Australian law enforcement had/have no plans in place to protect him and his family.

Meanwhile the heroism of Roy Larner, the Lion of London Bridge, remains largely unrecognised – except by every decent “normal” person. It’s a shame no-one thought of setting up a GoFundMe for him but maybe that wasn’t customary at the time.
I hope the equally brave Ahmed is better treated by our lords and masters.
But our society and certainly the leaders of our society don’t want these people. They aren’t authorized, after all. They haven’t taken the right health and safety courses. They don’t have a badge or a certificate. That is why this brave man had to rush the guy at enormous risk. Had he been carrying a pistol he could have effected the same result with much less personal risk. But the authorities don’t want that. They want only the people who work for them to have such weapons.
And of course we also have to remember that the risk to these heroes does not just come from the criminal, but the state itself puts them at risk. Risk of prosecution, risk of lawsuit, risk of arrest. One need only to ask Daniel Penny how smart it is to take on the crazy subway guy.
Another thing I thought about this was the inevitable reaction in Australia will be to make their already draconian weapons laws even more draconian. But it strikes me that if banning guns is a good idea to stop the violence, would it not equally be a good idea to ban Muslims too? WHAT I hear the yelling. Islam is a religion of peace. Only a tiny majority of Muslims would do such a thing. And I’d look on aghast that the parallels with the vastly more law abiding than average gun owning community are apparently lost as the person’s brains explode. “Don’t you know that the first amendment protects people’s right to their religion?”. And I shake my head that the obvious retort from an American is completely lost on them.
“But”, they reply, thinking they have a devastating reply, “The hero was a Muslim too!”, never occurring to them that the vast majority of gun owners are also the hero rather than the villain.
Of course I am not at all suggesting we ban Muslims, of course not. but it is surely illustrative of the absurdity of the gun regulation culture that makes us much less safe; because headlines are far more convincing than statistics.
There is some confusion about this case.
After disarming one of the Islamic attackers did Mr Ahmed shoot him or not? I have seen reports that he just let him walk off and pick up another weapon – but I do not know if that is true.
As for the religion of Mr Ahmed – there is also some confusion about this. Is he an Alawite or a Muslim? The religious scholars of Islam do not recognize Alawites as Muslims.
John – yes the heroism of Roy Larner has not been honoured, it would appear that the establishment would rather give a knighthood to Mayor Khan “you should have had this long ago” than to a supporter of Millwall Football Club.
As for Islam – it is defined by the teachings of Mohammed (various spellings) and his own actions (deeds) – it is clear that Mohammed would have morally approved of the actions of the attackers at Bondi beach – although he might have opposed their action on tactical grounds (prudence – wait till the time is right to crush the infidels).
Sadly telling the truth about this matter is considered a “crime” in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
Regimes that come for the means of self defense (such as firearms – but also other means of the self defense and the defense of others) do not stop there – they also seek to crush Freedom of Speech as well.
In Canada, for example, even quoting the Bible against homosexual acts will soon be illegal – as it already is in some parts of the “free” Western world, although there seems to be no actions against Muslims quoting hadiths against homosexual acts – for example “kill the one who does it, and kill the one to whom it is done” – why is this not “homophobic”?
Meanwhile who murdered two students (including the leader of the local College Republicans) at Brown university is still not disclosed – at least it was not the last time I checked.
The effort of the local authorities (and the media – such as CNN, which was tipped off to cover his arrest) to FRAME an ex serviceman (the sort of person who would have stepped in to PREVENT the murders) appears to have failed, but the real murderer has not been disclosed.
By the way – the social media accounts of a certain “pro Palestine activist” at Brown university appear to have gone.
Fraser Orr ‘of course’ does not suggest that ‘we ban Muslims’.
Why not? we ban Nazis.
The Bondi Beach killers were undoubtedly acting within the rules of the ‘religion of peace’.
The hero, Ahmad Al Ahmad, was arguably not acting within the rules of the religion of peace. He took the side of indfidels, even worse Jews, against the Muslims. Very risky in a ‘peaceful’ communtity.
It would be prudent for the Australian state to relocate him with a new identity as soon as possible.

There’s an interview with his parents, they seem pretty islamic to me.
I’ve also never come across a non-muslim called Ahmed, I have heard it was a name also associated with Muhammad. Perhaps someone can contradict this.

The Maronite Christian thing was all over the news for several hours yesterday. Documents were shown “proving” this.
Then I stopped seeing them.
Honestly, can any of us actually personally claim, with proof, that this attack even happened? We are all totally at the mercy of the loudest “news” voices for every little speck of info we’re allowed.
I see Laura Loomer claiming ‘Credible reports suggest the man is actually a Lebanese or Coptic Christian’ on twitter, yet omits to cite what these ‘credible reports’ are. The tweet has been community noted contradicting her claims. I can see some commenters to the thread then claiming the guy only tells his family he’s a Muslim, he isn’t really, again without any evidence for this.
Given Loomer has a history of making unsubstantiated claim on twitter I’d want some better evidence to believe this.
People may need to face that every real life event may not coincide with the ideology they have already decided on.
I have already covered the religion matter – his name indicates he is either a Muslim or an Alawite Muslim scholars do not consider Alawites to be Muslims.
By the way – according to Mohammed (various spellings) someone who claims to be a Muslim, but refuses (for moral – rather than tactical reasons) to participate in an attack upon infidels (let alone obstructs the attack) is a “hypocrite” who should be killed.
“Take not the Jews and Christians for friends” although pretending friendship (in order to trick the infidels) is fine.
I’d love to hear an interview of Ahmed.
Ask him the questions discussed here…and any other take on, lessons he learned from this attack.
What’s his view on gun control in AUS?

Of course, the interviewer’s identity would have to be masked and the interview conducted from an “undisclosed location”.
And for the record, there were other heroes that day who tried to stop the killers–and died in their attempts.
I do not think a man called Ahmed al Ahmed would be a Christian.
Sadly, his act of heroism would seem to have been in vain. Having wrestled a shotgun from the younger murderous muslim, the man ran back to his father’s location and grabbed another gun. Shooting him when he had the chance would have been a better course of action for Mr Ahmed, but he may have feared prosecution by the Australian wanker coppers.
