Comments on Killer bunnies, Japanese style
The Weirdest Anime Series Ever?
I'd say yes, although I still haven't gotten over Dragonball's hairdos. And what's up with the name?

Come to think of it, how can this possibly be considered any weirder than Pokemon? (Yes, my son did grow up in the 90s, why do you ask?) This is just Watership Down updated for 21C.

JP,
As a fellow blogger I know exactly how you feel. I went down the newsagents to buy some fags this morning and the Telegraph had a picture of a new born baby on the front. Apparently that kid will be 23 by the time we're out of this mess.

Are the (crypto) Islamic terrorists supposed to be llamas?

Posted by adagioforstrings at April 24, 2009 10:36 AM

No, camels.

Only the Japanese could get away with this. Gotta love 'em.

That is quite possibly the most awesome thing I have ever seen.

Killer bunnies - sweet!!

Only the Japanese could come up with something like this - you gotta love those guys..

Holy crap! The animation in that is as good as anything as Dreamworks or Disney could do.

Posted by andyinsdca at April 24, 2009 03:34 PM

My only question is: Why? (If I were more crude I'd say WTF?)

Posted by Laird at April 24, 2009 03:48 PM

Good advice JP.

Despite a rather heavy night, last night, I shall go in search of the corkscrew...

The Budget was complete bollocks, everyone knows it was, and I cant possibly plough through any more analysis.

So let's hit the bricks, suck up the sunshine and enjoy ourselves whilst we're still allowed.

Well, I don't know about that - Monty Python got away with "killer bunnies" quite well three decades ago:

Hmm...

This quote ought of course to have been included in my response above:

Of course; how did I ever forget the "Death awaits you all with nasty, big pointy teeth.."

So a correction - only the Japanese and Monty Python could come up with something like that.

I'm just glad that when I'm out hunting, my bunnies aren't toting M4s and miniguns - that really would change the game somewhat.

Watership Down meets Black Hawk Down.

It's an Engrish pun.

Usagi = rabbit

USA G.I. = Usagi

Posted by Kristopher at April 24, 2009 07:21 PM

Don't forget about Jimmy Carter's run-in with a killer rabbit!

Posted by Laird at April 24, 2009 07:38 PM

I do wonder what they put in the water over there sometimes. For me this(Link) has to be the wierdest anime I've seen, and I've seen a lot!

Posted by Andy Janes at April 24, 2009 07:42 PM

I think that's awesome.

Posted by Ian B at April 24, 2009 09:11 PM

It's subtitled here.

Oh and I saw this at the Rottwiler Empire several weeks ago.
