SpaceX engine firing successful
Dale Amon (Belfast, Northern Ireland/Laramie, Wy)  Aerospace

SpaceX carried out a 3.5 second test firing of the Falcon 9 engines on the pad at the Cape. This successful test opens the way to the first test launch of the vehicle. I will be keeping my eyes open for news on potential first flight dates.

Comments

According to a commenter at Transterrestrial Musings the planned launch date is April 12.

So if it all works as designed Yuri's Night will be extra special this year.

I wonder how soon before NASA tries to outlaw such endeavours, as they might interfere with its' own plans and privileges? Perhaps someone should sponsor a 'right to use Space' bill in Congress?
