Wednesday
By the way, here is an old post I did about a superb spoof on 1970s education programmes, which convey a similar sort of feel to some of those old Cold War public information items.

Excellent!
I've been trying to find an old sketch which I think was on one of the Secret Policeman's Balls, featuring Eleanor Bron and probably John Fortune or John Cleese. It contained the wonderful exchange:
"Darling, once we had something pure and beautiful and good - what happened to it?"
[pause]
"You spent it."
Anyone know where I can find it?

There is a truly hilarious parody of the Cold War era "Duck and Cover" films within Brad Bird's wonderful animated film "The Iron Giant", a film that far too few people have seen.

Pure genius.
I suppose that drinking Guinness until the pain goes away is a pretty tempting solution to the problem, at that.
This would, of course, constitute Binge Drinking.
Which suggests a brilliant, and hitherto untried, method by which the Government could seriously abate that particular social evil. Do you suppose somebody ought to tell them?

Why, so I did - and so may many more. But will they sod off when we so suggest?
