The Nobel Prize winning economist and columnist, Paul Krugman, does his best to annoy crusty free market ideologues such as myself with his sheer, implacable wrongness. It stuns me that the craziest remark in the post I link to here is not actually made up, but something he actually wrote.
Perhaps he should do Saturday Night Live.
A determined Keynesian who believes in free lunch.
The bit he conveniently ignores is that other people have to pay for it. And those people are the savers who watch their dollars/pounds/euros shrink before their eyes.
Perhaps another Krugman quote might be: "All the dying horse needs is some more stick and an amphetamine carrot."

What else can you expect from a man who just bent right over, spread those cheeks nice and wide... and whored himself to kingdom come for the political class.... Objective economic reasoning has long since gone and taken a hike from his mind I think..

If it'll make you feel better, most of us in the US consider the NY Times a joke. And frankly, the Times has produced a lot more genuine, if unintentional, comedy than SNL has in 20 years.
I think he should stay where he is.

"Centrist" means (if it means anything) leaving things as they are.
Yet more government spending and regulations is NOT "centrist" - especially not trillions of Dollars of government spending and enough regulations to crush what is left of independent (civil society) health care.
"Well what would you do - you evil reactionary running dog".
Repeal government spending schemes (which are going bankrupt anyway) and radically deregulate to vastly reduce the costs of health care.
"But that is not centrist" - I never said I was centrist, in my own way I am just as much of an extremist as Paul Krugman is.
I just ADMIT I am an extremist (I am not a dishonest piece of shit like Paul Krugman) - and I am also an extremist in the opposite direction to him.

As for saturday night live, he isn't funny enough! He suffers from a rational economic analysis bypass which unfortunately includes a free bypass on humour.
