The fox is always helped by an expanding food base, and the fox performs the service of weeding out the sick and infirm, thus improving the average health of the farm. I don't know why chickens rail against foxes- over the long term, everyone gains!

In the context of the wild, Ostralion, sure. In the context of a land dominated by farms, the fox is vermin.
