I am mystified about the rationale for the "little miss ******g sunshine thingy.

I can, however, understand the Icelanders' indignation about wee Gordie.

Great minds -- or maybe juvenile minds -- think alike. I lived in California when Ronald Reagan was running against two-term incumbent governor Pat Brown (father of Reagan's successor Jerry Brown), and at least one car in the neighborhood had a bumpersticker reading "If it's Brown, flush it". It made a big impression on my 13-year-old mind.

Nick: True enough. I meant to select "European Affairs" from the pull-down menu, but managed to select the next one down instead, which is "European Union". I have now changed it.

lucky. I wanted to move to iceland years ago but was thwarted, first by funds and then by a foreign-averse wife. Hope you enjoy it there I hear it's a beautiful country!

The Ludwig Von Mises Institute had an article on the vast credit money bubble in Iceland (Mr Brown, for once, was not to blame for that). Well worth reading.

Of course, no link from me.
