The Massachusetts Tax Revolt continues...
Dale Amon (Belfast, Northern Ireland/Laramie, Wy)  North American affairs

I just want to remind any of our readers in Massachusetts to help keep up the pressure for the initiative to end the income tax. The time until eleection day is running out. Money and publicity are the things our folk need so get out there and do your damndest to assist them. The opposition are raising large amounts of money from the people with their snouts deepest into the swill and are doing their best to convince Massachusetts voters to keep feeding them money.

If you are unfamiliar with this ballot initiaitive, or even if you know all about it, you should find this episode of the Glenn and Helen Show is of interest.

Instapundit has been doing yeoman service in covering it and I hope the bar conversations I had with Glenn on this subject back in May had a little bit to do with it!

No offense to anyone who believes the political means to end their own slavery justified, but... a ballot initiative? Surely the principled man looks at such a thing and says: "If the democratic process fails, then it is time to pick up our guns."

I'm just saying...

Only as a last resort though Mike. You should never point a gun at someone unless your are sure you want to pull the trigger. Do you really want to pull that trigger?

This is all about building a consensus for liberty. 'Armed struggle' belongs to a past world and no one who has ever lived with one going on around them would ever propose it as anything other than a last recourse when life and family are at risk.

Those who speak blithely of violence have never walked in the funeral processions of innocents that are its primary outcome.

That was an excellent comment, Dale.

I agree that violence is a last resort. But it's important to remember that democracy is a surrogate for violence. It's good to remind people what the fallback position is from time to time.

I hope this succeeds, not least because it will help prevent the transformation of southern New Hampshire into North Boston.
