Tories gerrymander their European primary
Samizdata Illuminatus (Arkham, Massachusetts)  European Union

It has been revealed that the Europhiles in the Tory party, led by John Maples MP, rigged the Tories' recent primary for Members of the European Parliament in order to prevent the deselection of Europhile incumbents and to promote women that had received too few votes. Comments

Vaguely on that subject, the parliamentary Tory Party was criticised today for not fielding a woman against Labour's female stand-in during PMQs. To any sane person, it would have been an insincere and extremely patronising gesture, but that's politics.
