The Financial Times is very much the house journal of corporatist Britain; while not blind to the needs for a vigorously entrepreneurial culture, it tends to be hemmed in by a general acceptance of government and its hold on our lives. This headline says it all in the assumptions that underpin that newspaper:

"Boost for Darling as tax takings increase."

Marvellous.

Comments

Well, they are right. It is a boost for Darling, and for the rest of the vermin of the public sector.

It fucks up decent people, of course, but what do the Labour party care about that?

The Financial Times used to have Marxists working for it - and they had strong links with the K.G.B.

Sadly, I am told, it is now most staffed with young left liberals out of universities.

Boring.
