A blog for people with a critically rational individualist perspective. We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Irish Liberty Forum
Perry de Havilland (London)  Irish affairs

Some fine folks have set up a message board called the Irish Liberty Forum for anybody interested in libertarian ideas, with a focus on Ireland (the name is a dead give away). So... check it out and feel free to report on the quality of conversation.

Now that the Freedom Institute is sadly defunct (it went belly up last year), there is great need for some genuine pro-liberty voices in Ireland to counter the paleo-Marxist Indymedia crap that seems to be in such evidence there.

Did you set this up yourself? Or is Dick Waghorne back in the saddle? Ní neart go cur le chéíle, an ea?

It is nothing to do with Samizdata, just pointing at it as a 'public service announcement'... feel free to post any 'reviews' of what sort of community it attracts.

Thanks Perry, much appreciated.

This is new, it's a small effort to connect people who don't have any obvious place to connect right now. If it is successful we might branch out into more activities, but our first task is to grow the membership and get the message board buzzing. Then we can see what comes out of that.

Merry christmas to one and all!

Good stuff, and a good find Perry. Thanks.

Irish Liberty Forum, if you ever want to break out of the google group area and need a hand with designing a layout, or coding the site or registering a domain just drop me an email at my address and I'll help out where I can. My design skills won't win ICAD recognition but I can still bang out some good 'uns. Beannachtaí na Nollag agus sonas agus séan don athbhliain.
