Driving a hybrid does indeed seem to lead to smugness.

For example driving at 100 miles per hour (well at least that hybrids can move fast) whilst under the influence of drink and drugs (even though one has been convicted of doing this before). The thought seems to be "I am a special person, who is an environmental activist, therefore the normal rules of good conduct do not apply to me".

Albert Gore Jr would fit into the cartoon well.

The only "hybrid" I like the look of is this one(Link). A proper series hybrid, full regen braking, 640bhp, 900 mile range (200 plug-in) and British design that fits all the necessary into a standard BMW Mini.

Frankly the Toyota "Pious" seems like a trick by their engine and transmission mafia to stay in the loop.
