I'd be more impressed if police announced they'd made some arrests without specifying why, and reported the charges when the charges were actually preferred.

10pm in a crowded resteraunt on a Friday night?! Everyone there had to give their name and address.
Does anyone know how many innocent persons had their evening ruined?
Maybe there's a message here for terrorists?
Maybe there's a message here for the general public!
Personally, I've never been very keen on the early dawn swoop on private houses of those to be arrested (except in extreme cases); however, I don't see this new development as an improvement.
There may well be reasons for this particular action, but I sure would like it to be justified - and subjected to full public scrutiny.

Can i ask, why is it that when all the arrests were made a few weeks ago the government went to the head of the muslim community to advise of the arrests to prevent unrest, now if we were arresting 10 British caucasian males, would a visit of been paid to the archbishop of canterbury to advise him? Just a thought.
