Thursday
You can come back tomorrow. We should have a doctor then.
Unknown medical receptionist, explaining to Will Luke his chances of actually finding a doctor working in his local surgery.

I had a similar experience at my NHS dentists a year or two ago. I rang the practice to find out when my next check-up was as I had a slight toothache and thought that my check-up was overdue. The practice told me it was still open for NHS treatment but it didn't have any dentists at the moment and this was the reason no check-up reminders had been sent out.
'Things can only get better' should still be the Labour election song. It's truer now than it was in 1997.

Does anyone here know anything about the detail of the NHS pension scheme the doctors belong to? Is there likely to be a flood of early retirements one year after the recent big pay rise?
