Dog shoots man
Gabriel Syme (London)  How very odd!

What is the world coming to!

A French hunter was shot by his dog after he left a loaded shotgun in the boot of his car with two dogs and one of the animals accidentally stepped on the trigger, police say.

The man, from the village of Espelette in the Basque region, was admitted to hospital in the nearby town of Bayonne on Monday with leadshot injuries to the hip.

"As he was driving along, one of his dogs accidentally set off the gun," a police official said on Wednesday.

I didn't know it was loaded, okay?

Accidentally??? Is that the dog's story?

Happens in the US.

Easy solution:

Ban dogs.

If it saves the life of one etc. etc. etc.

Sheesh, first guns control people, now they control dogs too. What evil things...

Hey, at least the dog hit was he was aiming at!

Wow...what a surprise. A Frenchman shot in the behind. First the Germans, now a dog. :)

Ce matin, un chien
a tué un chasseur...

He didn't kill him, Anonymous. He just winged him. The dog is a bad hunter.

Driving around with a loaded gun in his car, the nitwit deserved the bullet in his ass.

Guns kill...
A big thank you to The Dog for that lesson.

Posted by Kodiak at November 6, 2003 06:09 AM

Kodiak how you can you manage to be so consistently wrong and idiotic on every post that comes to this site? Some fuckwit French hunter leaves a loaded gun in his boot and suddenly guns are guilty and not the fuckwit himself?

I think you are a posterboy example of why people who have a reasoned belief in their principles are prepared to engage in an honest debate about them and why ideologues can only mouthe platitudes and abuse. I've never once seen you argue your case convincingly in response to a post that has raised your intolerance level. All you do is drip vitriol and abuse and sarcasm. I suspect that you lack the smarts to enter a debate proper. For no particular reason I also suspect you are in the US and I would therefore invite you to run for President as the candidate of the Democratic Party - you are their dream candidate right now.

Patrick W:
Way too rough! Let him be. He is just passive-aggressive. For him it is the dog that proves his point.

I agree with Mr Crawford. Where I grew up we got a strong dose of gun safety from childhood on. You are taught to break open a shotgun even when stepping over a fence.

Riding with a loaded, ready to fire shotgun laying in the back is sheer folly.

He's lucky he's not up for a Darwin award nomination.

Surly we must feel for the poor dog.....I mean so utterly broken & humiliated at having to serve a frog that it was driven to kill the weasel

Still one less we have to bail out next time the Huns invade .............!

He failed to surrender quickly enough, and suffered the consequences.

Mark Steyn says on his site, "If guns are banned, only French dogs will have guns."
