An eye for an eye.

The biblical notion of 'an eye for an eye' is still taken seriously in Saudi Arabia. Literally.

This being Saudi Arabia, lex talionis is in practice assymetrical. Had the case been the other way round, and a Saudi man blinded an Indian guest-worker in a fight, the case would be unlikely to come to court (or at least not with the Saudi as defendant), and the chances of such savage retaliation being ordered would be vanishingly small.

Given that we are talking about Saudi Arabia, I'm not sure 'biblical' is the proper adjective...
