If you want to read a splendid and truly hilarious article about US politics from the Irish Times, written by Newton Emerson, then go take a peek at Slugger O'Toole, where the entire article has been reproduced with permission.

"Newton Emerson", surely a nom-de-plume for obvious reasons, used the run the excellent, and now sadly defunct, Northern Irish satire site The Portadown News. Thankfully the back issues still remain. Hurrah!

What's the British phrase? "Spot on?"

Good job, Mr. Emerson. You understand our country better than the alleged "elites" in the MSM.
