Samizdata quote of the day
Antoine Clarke (London)  Slogans/quotations

Political campaigns are the graveyard of real ideas and the birthplace of empty promises.
- Teresa Heinz, aka Mrs John Kerry, on why she refused to run for office after her first husband's death. Definitely First Lady material.

Comments

Mrs. Kerry also recently announced that she detests what Wal-Mart is doing to America -- all the while possessing about a million dollars' worth of Wal-Mart stock.

Stupid bitch.

Kim du Toit - How could anyone become John Kerry's second heiress wife without being stupid?

Right for a start, an heiress attracted to someone who looks like Ed Muskie dragged backwards through a vacuum cleaner and sounds the way cotton wool tastes is not a good protector of her own best interests.

Verity,
You mean she could have bought herself something better ? Her first choice, though, was smart enough.

Jacob, that was before she had money. Did money make people stupid?
