I think I recall from Andrew Chaikin's Apollo Program history "A Man on the Moon", that a small physical memorial was placed at the Apollo 15 landing site (at which date seven astronauts had been lost in the USA/USSR space programs). Can anyone confirm this? Will the terminator of the first moon of the Year of the Monkey have passed Mount Hadley by tonight?

A lot depends on your frame size and where you intend to carry the weapon. If you are large enough and your wardrobe will conceal the weapon where you intend to carry it, I have to reccomend the Glock 30. If that fine weapon prints too much where you are trained to carry a pistol, I would consider the S&W 457 as a thinner firearm that prints less but is still reliable. As a last resort, I would consider carrying a high-quality derringer.
If you can comfortably, inconspicuously, and reliably carry a fanny pack, your range of options opens up considerably. At that point, you should carry what you shoot best that will still fit in the fanny pack.
If lawyers in your area are conspicuous when wearing fanny packs, you might consider getting a concealment briefcase. Uncle Mike's used to make a concealment briefcase and some of the police catalogues might have things along those lines. If you can get one of those, puchase and learn to use an MP-5K and never worry about hostage situations again...
