Wandering bloggers
Perry de Havilland (London)  Blogging & Bloggers

Two members of the illustrious Samizdata Editorial Pantheon are going to be in the USA... myself and Adriana, on a mixture of indolent tourism and ardent capitalist business. We will be in Los Angeles from 10th -16th October and then in the New York/New Jersey area between 17th - 21st October before returning to London.

We would love to meet up with US bloggers and so we are organising blogger bashes, one which is already arranged in LA on Saturday 11th October... and one in NYC on Friday 17th October.

Please let us know if you would like to join us so we can get an idea regarding numbers.

That inimitable gentleman Brian Linse, Samizdata.net's favourite pet pinko, will be hosting the West Coast blogger bash so numbers may be limited.

The splendiferous Jane Galt is heading up the where-and-when of the one in The Big Apple.

Perry,

Off-topic, but this is an ideal way to contact you.

I went to the open day at Biggin Hill aerodrome for a tour round the remaining WW2 installations.

Did you know they've got a complete original DH Comet IV cockpit training simulator in one of the huts on the east side there?

For the tourism part of your trip, I recommend the LAX Firing Range. They have a decent selection of rental handguns, and a few rifles and shotguns. It's the nicest indoor range in LA--I go there fairly often myself.

Oops, I messed up the URL. It's http://www.laxrange.com/

Perry,
Is NY meet only for bloggers? What about occasional commentators?

Tatyana: Occassional, habitual or recidivist. commentators are, of course, welcome - after all they have the blogging bug too...

Perry, try and get in touch with some of the Extropy crowd as well, such as Russell Whitaker, though he is in northern California in the bay area. fyi

He who shall not be named...

I would love to come to the LA bloggers bash as I am stateside in early October - how and where do I present myself?

Looking forward to meeting the others, too!

Perry: I've often told you I'd like to hook up if you were in SoCal, I guess this is the chance. Please get me more info on the LA Bash. I'll contact my friend judge James P. Gray, who should be a candidate on the 2004 LP ticket, and see if he would like to tag along (he's a great singer, as well).

And, if you'd like to do some shooting, we have some fine ranges (indoor and out) in Orange County. And I have a old friend who's a retired cop, with a small arsenal.

Fantastic! I hope to be there.

I'm interested in going to the blogger-bash in New York.

Perry,

Next time, swing through Dallas. Apart from having some excellent shooting ranges (and I'm a member at most), DFW is home to several bloggers like Rachel Lucas, Emperor Misha, Jennie Taliaferro, Aubrey Turner, The Mrs. and of course your Humble Narrator.

We'd be happy to host said BlogBash at our humble abode.
