Saturday
This is from the 'The Basra Rose', the Iraq deployment section of the Red Rose, the newsletter of the 1st Battalion The Queen's Lancashire Regiment:
WEATHER
Mon - HOT
Tue - VERY HOT
Wed - UNBELIEVABLY HOT
Thu - SO HOT YOU'LL CRY
Fri - AS HOT AS THE SUN
Sat - SO HOT LOCALS BURST INTO FLAMES
Sun - AS HOT AS THE DEVIL'S SCROTUM
In other words, it is a tad hot in Basra. Just so you know.

Gee, Samizdata embracing the nutty theory of Global Warming!?

I know. 's OK. But you won't find support for Global Warming here.

How would they know how hot the devil's scrotum is? Did the devil come in for a physical recently? :-)

Forget Basra, its Adriana who is so hot it is making me cry.

Please, tell me those poor sods in Basra at least get a decent ration of cold beer every day when they're off duty.

Actually, that's looking remarkably like
the week's weather forecast for England!
I feel like I'm sitting inside the devil's sporran, but it is in fact an office in South London.
If this keeps up the UK will finally have to get to grips with the concept of air-conditioning which has eluded us for so long.
