Thursday
It was strangely disconcerting to suddenly see our blog-father off the ether for such a long time, particularly as, like Glenn, Samizdata.net also resides on Hosting Matters servers.
For those of you who do not know, Hosting Matters had an electrical fire and whilst it took us off the air for only a few minutes, the James Brown of the Blogosphere was silenced for most of yesterday.
But he is back and blogging his heart out once more. The world is back running in well-oiled grooves.
Heh.

Strangely, instapundit is the only blog I've run across which is blocked by the filtering software at my place of work. I've always meant to check them out from home to see if they're playing dirty word Scrabble or spelling out headlines with naked ladies or something, but I've never gotten around to it.

You should definitely make Glenn Reynolds a regular blog stop. He is voracious and indefagitable in his posting, generally has interesting and thoughtful things to say, and is no fan of statism into the bargain. Sorry, no naked ladies or dirty words - I would be fascinated to know why your nanny, er, boss, blocks his site.

It's interesting to see just how centralised the blogging world actually is server-wise, even when using supposedly decentralised software like MT. We lost most of the Australian blogosphere briefly a couple of weeks ago, when two MT empires went down at the same time.
