Monday
Central London was the venue for another demonstration by the Countryside Alliance today, timed to co-incide with a parliamentary debate on the proposed regulation of fox-hunting.
""We don't want an unjust bill, which does not have the support of the community to which it applies and I think we are looking at a serious amount of trouble if that happens..."
Judging from the latest reports from the broadcast news, that 'serious amount of trouble' is upon us as some 1500-2000 countryside insurrectionists are locked in battles with police and traffic in and around Westminster has been brought to a standstill.

That isn't serious trouble. Serious trouble is what will happen if the ban is imposed - large scale civil disobedience and monkeywrenching.

This is the same thing that's happening in the U.S. Mountain West. Environmentalists with backing froma Californial and the East Coast are pushing locking up millions of acres of "public" lands in wilderness areas, closing existing roads, and prohibiting any mechanical conveyance. I predict a similar reaction. The fox hunters have my full support. Environmentalism has become nothing more than a power grab.

Governments are stupid to take on hunters, who by definition are ARMED. Will the tranzi bigots win and pass the ban? Reminds me of the Robin Hood movie with Kevin Costner, who rescues a boy charged with poaching the King's deer. Just make that Parliament's or Labour's deer and you have today's equivalent.

The enviro movement has always been a power grab, attempting to trump property rights (civil rights, remember) by substituting rights for dear little creatures - or at least dramatic literature representing that. The landowners are to give up their personal rights to benefit society as a whole, with no compensation whatever. Down with the Politburo and the Central Committee both.

Hey... we threw tea into the bay... how about throwing some of those elitist leftists into the Thames?
