They are shocking. The “no ifs no buts” ones are unbelievable because they come close to saying you have no come-back, no way of defending yourself. And what if you are innocent and it’s “no ifs no buts”. I

If you’re not au fait with the UK you’d be bloody staggered by them.

On a related matter, I saw an atrociously Stalinist advert on TV today threatening “benefit cheats”. One of those gruff Eastenders-type voices growled that it’s no use, We Have Ways of seeing what you’re up to that you can’t even imagine. Nice.

This whole campaign against the licence fee and its enforcement is going to backfire. They’ll end up replacing it with something worse and impossible to avoid- my guess is an ISP tax.
