It is a real shame though that he is a taxeater, why such a popular show needs to be on the Beeb I have no idea. He is actually a good example to use when discussing privatisation of the BBC, he is a polarising character that many advocates for continued state ownership of the BBC abhor. Half the argument is trying to convince people that the state should not be picking what is available to watch on TV. It is a disgrace that license fee holders that dislike Top Gear are forced to subsidise its production costs.

Jeremy Clarkson is still one of the funniest guys on television. So he’s a parody of laddishness but there are already far too many po faced drones on tele. We need more people who, like Clarkson, are real – even if they are occasionally rather irritating.

Un PC remarks are waaay down the list of reason’s why Jeremy won’t be meeting Attenborough any time soon. Watch just one episode of Top Gear and it will be very clear — Last week they set fire to a “Caravan”. the week before it was 250 mph.. and alot faster the week before that —- until the crash anyway.
