We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Saddam is indeed a threat

Glenn Reynolds over on Instapundit already pointed out this post on Indepundit. It deserves to be widely read so I am reiterating it.

If anyone tells you Saddam isn’t really trying to acquire nuclear weapons and isn’t really a threat… tell them to read the above.

Oh puh-lease. The Iraqi opposition know who’s their daddy (Dubya) and what to say to please him (“Saddam is inventing nuclear anthrax terrorist missiles and he already has them pointed right at the USA”). Uh, yeah, and he also has squadrons of kamikazi flying pigs, prestuffed with unobtainium-nitrate high explosive, to divebomb the infidel. *sigh*

  • Does the phrase “Peace in our time” mean anything to you, Mr. Morrison?

After the dust has settled, and irrefutable evidence of Saddam’s evil designs has been revealed to the world, can we expect you to come back here and admit that you were wrong?

I am reminded more than anything else of the ostrich, sticking his head in a whole in the ground to avoid seeing anything that might be dangerous.
